"Hey, my mom called- you're coming over my place for the night?" Noah asked when he came to my locker.
I nodded my head and stuffed my books in my locker. "Yeah, just gotta go to my place first to get my pjs and toothbrush." I lied.
"Nice one, Dani." Noah says and I fake confusion.
"What?" I ask him.
"You already have your own toothbrush at my place and you have pjs there with an outfit that my mom cleaned the day after you left it there." He said and I rolled my eyes.
"I just- I wanna sleep in my own bed tonight!" I complained.
"Well, pretend the one at my place is yours- and didn't you say it was way more comfortable than yours?" He asks and I smile.
"It is."
"Yeah, I know." He said. "Now come on, we have to go home and eat."
"Fine." I say taking a deep breath. We walked out the school and headed to the parking lot when Noah decided to stop.
"I wonder where Daisy is..." Noah said looking around the school parking.
I rolled my eyes and wanted to run in front of the school traffic we have every day at 2:15.
"She's coming over too?" I ask him and he just nods his head. "Maybe she's somewhere smoking- you know she smokes?" I ask Noah and he quickly answers me back.
"Yeah."
"Wait." I say. "You don't-"
"No?" Noah says not looking at me as he turns around.
"Oh my god, Noah." I complained. "That's gross!" I shouted at him, smacking his arm too.
"Dani-"
"No!" I said glaring at him. "You know I lost my grandfather to lung cancer because he smoked since he was 13, and we made a promise to each other the day he died- we said we will never smoke-"
"Yeah, Dani- well sometimes promises get broken. Deal with it." Noah says and Im taken back from what he said.
"Fine, Noah." I said crossing my arms and heading to the side walk.
"Where are you going, Dani?" He calls out and I hear him running after me.
"I'm walking to you're house, don't worry." I said as I crossed the street to get away from him.
"Let me drive you, come on!" He said and I just flipped him off. "Dani!" He called out but I ignored him.
Go find you smoking bitch of a girl friend.
Some promises are meant to be broken? What the hell does he think this is? Promises aren't meant to be broken no matter what.
As I'm walking home I find myself in front of my house and I'm so tempted to go in and just stay there.
Oh, fuck it. I'm staying at my house tonight no matter what my mother thinks.
I rush over to my door and look through my bag, digging my hands in it and pulling out basically everything in just to find my keys but to my luck they aren't there.
I bury my face in my hands and take deep breaths to control my anger.
Promises are meant to be broken...
I wonder what other promise he already broke and will break sooner or later.
"Hey, stranger." I hear a deep voice say from next to me. I look up to see Tom, my 'horny' neighbor.
"Hey, Tommy!" I say happily, getting up and giving him a quick hug. "How's it going? How's the college life?" I ask him as we sit down on my porch steps.
"Uh, it sucks." Tom says as he takes a deep breath. "I finally got into a serious relationship and found out she's been sleeping with my roommate during my classes."
I gasp and shake my head. "No way."
Tom laughs at my expression. "Yeah way, she was a fucking slut." He says and I'm surprised.
Tom never, and I mean never, slut shames a girl even if everyone else thinks they are he doesn't. So it's a shock to me that he says that about her.
My phone starts to vibrate and I look at it to see Noah's calling.
"Hello?" I answer.
"Where the hell are you?" He asks me. "Do you know how worried I am?"
"I'm coming, hold the fuck on." I say. "I just took a long way is all-"
"Where are you?" He asks again. "I will pick you up-"
"No!" I shout through the phone. "Im coming, I'm on my way now! Goodbyeee!" I say as I hang up and throw my phone in my bag.
"You still like that idiot?" Tom asks and I glare at him.
"He's not an idiot!" I argue and Tom laughs.
"Yeah he is." He says and before I can start an argument he asks, "What's the loser want?"
Tom never liked Noah, says he's no good for me. But what does Tom know?
"I have to spend the night at his house cause my mom doesn't trust me to be alone at home while you're here." I tell him honestly.
"Your mom still doesn't like me?" He asks and I nod my head. "Come on it's been, what? 3 years since I gave you your first kiss on this porch?" He asks and I laugh.
When I was in 9th grade and Tom was in 11th he came over because we were really good friends and I was crying to him because no guy kissed me ever and every girl already had their first kisses back in elementary. So Tom wanted to make me feel better and he gave me my first kiss and I felt happy but my mom wasn't- she literally chased him off the porch with a broom. It was awesome and the kiss was pretty good, too.
"Yeah." I said laughing at the memory. "Well, I have to go Tommy-"
"Here, let me drive you there." He says and I smile at him.
"Alright, thanks." I say as we walk over to his car.
His car is the hottest car in the world! It's an impala! I love it, so much!
I happily get in the passenger side and he quickly backs out the driveway and drives off the wrong direction.
"Dude, he lives that way." I said and Tom smiled, he seems embarrassed. "Aw, don't be embarrassed!" I said pitching his cheek and he slapped my hand away and I just laughed.
I gave him the directions and he came up with the stupidest plan after I told him about Noah and Daisy.
But I found myself agreeing to the plan, ready to make a show.
