WNH/Chapter 17

I reapplied my lipstick before heading out the door. Yes, I'm actually wearing lipstick! It's red and the main reason I'm wearing it is because I'm going to a rock concert (1975) and it goes nice with my outfit.

"Mom, I'm heading out." I shout from the front door.

"Have fun- remember what we talked about!" She shout back.

"Don't do anything stupid." Bill chimes in and I just smile and leave the house.

My mom and I had a very deep conversation while we were Skype video calling with my brother last night. It went a little something like this-

"I swear she's more confusion than the chick in Vampire Diaries." My mom told my brother who just laughed at me.

"I'm surprised her and Noah haven't gotten together before-"

"They still aren't, she's with Tom." My mom cuts him off and Brandon looks at me like I'm not the same person.

"What?" He asks me. "You're not with Noah? The guy you've loved since forever?"

I roll my eyes at him, "No." Is all I say as I left but before I could my mom called me out.

"Remember to choose one before its too late." She says and I nod my head.

Choose someone? I already have someone..

I didn't even notice I made it in Noah's driveway, how did I even drive around without knowing what's going on? I guess I'm just that good.

I walked to the door and before I could ring or knock it flies open to an annoyed Nick. "Hi, Dani." He says as he walks out the house.

"What's going on?" I ask him.

"Parents just get more demanding in their 80's." He says as he opens the drivers side to his jeep. "Dani, move away far one day and don't stay close to your parent- they just get annoying." He tells me and I smile at him.

"Alright got it planned out." I say and he laughs. "Drive safe." I say as I walk into their house and into the living room.

I haven't seen nor talked to Noah's grandparents since the day one of his grandmothers 'told me off' or whatever. I'm still mad at her.

I put my black cardigan on the couch and sit next to Tori. Everyone's quiet and no ones saying a word, I guess they were arguing over something.

"Is Noah ready?" I ask Tori and she shakes her head.

"No, he had to go get something first- he will be home any minute." She tells me with a smile. "How've you been?" She asks and before I can answer one of Noah's grandmas scold at me.

"Don't talk to her." She said to Tori. "She's nothing but a mess up-"

"Excuse me?" I say. What is this old bat talking about now?

"You heard me." She said as she faced me. "You almost ruined Daisy and Noah-"

"Mom..." Tori said but shut up right when her mom glared at her.

"I didn't almost ruin anything." I said, trying to defend myself. "So if you don't mind-" I said getting up and headed to the door until she spoke again.

"Kids these days just don't understand-"

"Understand what?" I almost shout, almost. "Arrange marriage? Hows that even legal to do? Isn't it illegal?" I mostly ask myself. Is it illegal.

"And if you were in his shoes?" His grandma asked me.

My phone beeped and I looked down to see Noah texted me saying he's waiting outside.

I shook my head, "I wouldn't marry someone I don't know."

She rolled her eyes, "That's exactly what Tori said-"

"But am I Tori?" I ask her, completely pissed off now. "If my mother ever came to me and said I had an arranged marriage I would laugh in her face. I would never, ever, be with someone I don't truly love." I said. Everyone's eyes were on me and Tori nodded her head for me to go on once she saw that I was going to stop- so I did. "Love is something very special to people. Others can't make someone love one person just because they said so, love is from the heart- not from someone else's words."

"But-"

"But nothing." I cut off his grandma who looked like she wanted to slap me. "It may have worked out for Tori and Nick- I mean look at them, they're happy. But will Noah actually be happy?" I ask them. "I know. I know what you said last time but I'm actually only thinking of Noah- not me. Ask yourself- will Noah be happy?"

And I walked out the door where Noah was waiting, smiling at me.

"What took so long?" He asked me.

"Oh, nothing." I replied. "Just a small conversation. Crap-" I cursed.

"What?" He asks.

"I forgot my jacket, hold on." I said as I rushed up the stairs.

It was awkward coming back inside but I did it and held my head up high. I grabbed my jacket and said bye to Tori.

Noah and I get into his car and drive off. Can't wait till we get to the concert.

I played Jennifer Lopez new song 1st love and sang along to Noah who just smiled as my bad voice was being obnoxious.

"I wish you were my first love, cause if you were first there would be not second third or forth love!" I sang and danced in my seat and watched people give me weird looks as they drove beside us.

An old man was staring at me strangely and I started to sing to him and he just kept an awkward scared look.

When the song finished I blew him and kiss and Noah hit the gas as we were speeding down the road.

"So.." I said turning to Noah. "You wanna take turns driving since its gonna take like a whole day to get there?" I ask and he shakes his head.

"No, it's fine." I says as he switched to the other lane.

"Fine." I said laying my head back. "Wake me up when you need something." I said as I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "Night." I said.

Eh. I know. Just trying to finish this book. Okay so the books almost done- and I want to dedicate the last chapter to a loyal fan. Everyone is a winner but only one can get the dedication- who wants it? (I will check and see who was really supportive and had the nicest comments btw) :)
