I woke in the middle of the night. Guess it's because I slept so early. Mom used to warn me about that on school nights. I shifted onto my back and just stared at the ceiling.

"You up?"

"Sorry, did I wake you?"

"Kinda."

"Oh, sorry."

"Quit apologizing."

"Ok."

"Do you need to use the bathroom?"

"No."

"Then go back to sleep. You have a long day in the morning."

"I'd sleep better with just my plu-"

"I'm not letting you go."

"Okay, I guess."

Instead of the dreamless sleep this time, I had a dream that I won't be forgetting soon.

I was in the car again. Chatting away and laughing from the back seat with mom and dad. It was sudden. There weren't even any cars around. It was as if we had slammed into one though. The car flipped and we did too. Mom was unconscious, Dad broke his arm, and I couldn't move. He slowly walked towards us with an evil smile. His face was full of scars and was so pale. It was scary just looking a him. Dad, he tried his best. He really did, but his powers were acting up and he couldn't properly defend himself. He killed them. Right in front of me. Then he turned towards me. His smile widened as he stalked towards me. I was helpless as he reached a hand towards me. It was suddenly dark.

"You're mine now."

I  woke with a jerk. I sat up quickly sweating and panting. Did that fucker mark me?

"Thank god. I was scared. You were having a really bad nightmare and I couldn't wake up. Our snuggles didn't help you. I'm sorry."

"Don't be. Ugh, I think I may need a counseling session with Razor-san," I sighed, putting my head in my hands.

"What time is it?"

"Three in the morning, Phoenix."

"I don't know whether I should be getting up or staying down."

"As long as you're in this bed, I'm not letting you go."

"I'll get up then."

"Noooo. You're so warm and it's too early."

"I don't care."

"Stay, please!" Pierce begged.

"Pleeeeeeeeeaaaase."

"Okay! Quit begging."

"Mmmm."

"Quit breathing on my neck."

"I'm happy."

"What?"

"Phoenix is giving me another chance. That makes me happy."

I could feel the smile he had on his face.

"I'm not falling back to sleep."

"That's okay."

"Pierce?"

"Hmm?"

"How do you know so much about me?"

"That's a secret."

"Oh, okay."

He chuckled quietly.
