Betty walked home from school, the cold winter air brushing against her already rosy cheeks. She came to her front doorstep and unlocked the door. She put her house key into the little basket of keys and random junk from around the house.
She started up the stairs and then she heard a thud. Betty slowly crept up the stairs and walked over to her bedroom. She stood in the doorway. Nobody was there. She turned the corner and was surprised at the person standing on a ladder by her window.
"Jughead?" Betty said, excited but also worried because he had kinda been avoiding her.
He tapped on the window and she dropped her backpack and ran over to open it.
"Hey Betty. Thank god you let me in, it's cold out there. " Jughead said. His nose was red and his cheeks looked very pink.
"What are you doing here?" Betty asked, genuinely confused about why he was here at her house. Climbing into her window like the first time they-
Jughead cut her off,"I just came to apologize."
"Apologize? For what? Leaving me at the whyte wyrm alone no ride home, pushing me away every chance you get, ignoring me, attempting to 'protect' me by pushing me away after I went planets away from my comfort zone just to become a part of your world to protect you, or is it because you scared me half to death when you tapped on my window a couple minutes ago?."
Betty was about to cry. She had never spilled her feeling about that to anyone. She just felt like crumpling to the floor. Her nails were digging into her palms and it burned, but it was almost better that the hell she was going through around her.
"I want to apologize for all of those things. For not being there for you. For not keeping you close like a good boyfriend should. And the last thing you said. About not accepting you into my world. I am so sorry about that. I respect you too much to even look at you like that. You did that for me? Why?"
"Because Jughead! I love you and I will never stop loving you! I will go to the ends of the earth to make you happy! I try and try to make everyone happy. And when I see the person I love most disappointed by me it gives me excruciating amounts of pain, mentally and physically!" Betty yelled. She opened up her palms and looked a him straight in the face.
He looked down at her hands and back at her. "Stop doing that!" He yelled.
"Doing what?" Betty asked, puzzled.
"Saying things that make me want to kiss you!" His expression changed and a more soft hopeful expression laced his features.
Betty was taken aback at this comment. Then she looked at him and kissed him like there was no tomorrow. He pulled away but Betty, not wanting to ever let go of the moment, kissed him again.
They split apart and Jughead grabbed Betty's hands. He opened her palms and gave her a hug. Then he took her to the bathroom and wrapped her hands in gauze. Betty pecked him on the lips and wrapped her arms around his waist.
"I love you Jug"
"I love you too"
