The boys hadn't had a case for weeks, nothing was happening in terms of the strange or spooky. It was driving Dean up the walls.
"Oh come on Sammy, there must be something. Try crossroads, there must be some unexplained death somewhere."
"We tried everything Dean. Look, can't you just be happy that we've had a month of peace." Sam sighed. His eyes scoured over yet another news article on his laptop. Nothing leapt out at him. Even Cas had tried searching for a sign of any rogue angels. Nothing.
Dean sighed and began to haul himself to bed. Just before he left, Sam called out at him. "Wait, Dean!"
Dean sprinted back over, desperate to see what Sam had found. He tripped and nearly face planted the table in his eagerness. Sam suppressed a smirk before beginning, "So get this, over the years fifty three people have disappeared from these woods without a trace."
"And, no one noticed this?"
"No! The latest was a young couple, last month. There are no obvious signs of anything supernatural, so I guess no one has investigated yet. The timings are wrong for ritual and people live in the woods, so it's not a curse. It's not much but it's something, right?"
Dean's eyes lit up and he grinned. "Good enough for me. Be ready in 10."
