Chapter Six: Replaced
It took a while, like five hours, to convince my parents to still allow me to go on my spring break trip with my friends. It took another two hours to get Clarissa to finally agree to cover for me with my parents. She'd pick me up in the morning, just liked we'd planned originally, but instead of driving to the train station together to meet up with our friends, she'd drop me off at the airport. I had stayed up half the night trying to find a plane ticket that not only could I afford but would leave around the same time the train my friends planned on taking left so my parents wouldn't think it strange.
I was surprised, to say the least, when Clarissa walking in my front door with Aaron and Sienna in tow. Aaron sent me a small grin, picking up my things and bringing them outside to Clarissa's car. I hugged dad good-bye and he kissed the top of my head. Then I went to mom who basically crushed the life out of me. "Come back to me, baby, alright?" She wouldn't let go until I coughed out an O.K. "I'm not stupid enough to think you won't drink this week, but please, for the love of God, Payton, please do it responsibly," she was basically in tears, and it was all I could do to give her one more hug and then slip out of her arms. I hated lying to my family.
Jillian gave me a quick squeeze before running back upstairs, and then it was Grandma's turn. She hugged me and brought her mouth close to my ear. "Don't do anything stupid, princess." She pulled back and winked at me before squeezing my neck and letting me go. I raised an eyebrow but she was already giving Clarissa a quick hug and telling her to be safe.
When the four of us piled in the car and finally got on the road towards the airport, I let out a shaky breath. "Why are you doing this, Pay? Why don't you just come with us to the Hamptons like we originally planned?" Clarissa sounded nervous as I felt. "You don't even know who you're looking for and Europe is a big place!"
I knew Europe was a big place. It was also a shot in the dark. This compass on my forearm pointing East could honestly be pointing me anywhere. Europe could be the completely wrong place. But I had to try. I had to do something.
"I agree with Riss on this one Payton," Aaron chimed in from the back seat. "If you don't find whoever you're looking for in seven days, the duration of Spring Break, then you're coming home, you get me?" I wanted to snap at him, ask him who he thought he was telling me what to do. It's my life. My completely fucked up life and it might take me a little bit longer to find this person. Aaron was giving me a week, but the date on my neck gave me six.
In the end I wound up saying, "Okay," and the car went silent again.
When the three of them left me at the curb of the airport, Aaron shouted "One week!" Out the winder before Clarissa sped off to the train station. I turned and faced the gigantic building, letting out an inaudible sigh when a place lifted off the ground as I walked inside.

Landing in London while it was over cast and rainy made me feel alot better about the fact that my wardrobe consisted of leggings and capri jeans. At least I wouldn't die of heat stroke before I could make it back home.
I figured I would go to the hotel I booked and get settled in before I started human hunting. Whoa, that sounded kind of morbid. Let me rephrase. I'll get settle before I start searching for the person whose life I'm supposed to save. Before going to the carousel to collect my bags, I headed to the bathroom, the back of my neck tingling a hell of a lot.
After answering natures call, I went to wash my hands, then turned with my back to the mirror and pushed my hair away from my neck.
I screamed. Okay, well it wasn't a scream. I screeched, loud and involuntarily, but it was still startling, even to my own ears. A woman had come out of the stall and jumped a bit. I sent her an apologetic smile, my eyes gazing over her tattoo covered skin. She had to have at least 92 percent of her skin covered. I let my hair drop as she washed her hands and pretended to fuss with it until she left, eyeing me like I was strange. I probably am.
When the door shut behind her, I ripped the hair away from my neck and my eyes filled with tears. The date that had tattooed itself on my skin - 6 . 2 . 12 - was now gone and replaced with another date.
5 . 1 . 12
A single tear ran down my cheek. This just got a whole lot more difficult.

WOWZA I'm back. Okay so I know this isn't a lot, and it's kind of a filler if you want to call it that, but whatever. I am hoping to be on here more and writing and working on this story and the other one I have previously uploaded called The Wild Ones.
I am really excited to be back on here with you guys and I'm so happy that this story came back to me and I can't wait to get moving with it. I hope you don't all hate me and continue to love this story as much as I do.
Shout out to f-frozenheart who has been putting up with my horrible updating and still loves my story anyway ;*
The next chapter will be full of stuff, I promise, it's going to be a really good one and it really gets the story rolling. This chapter I just had to add so I can get to the next one. sooooo STAY TUNED!
I love you all, thank you so much for putting up with me and this rant :)
