Virgils POV

I held Andy close, whispering the same thing I did in the forest.

"Thank you."

I feel him slowly slipping away from me. His physical form disintegrating back into the shadow it once was. I single tear brushes against my cheek from the face pressed against mine.

"I-i just wanted to h-help." He stuttered out, trying to apologize. "I-I didn't want you to hurt, but I-i made it worse," he cried as he disappeared.

"I forgive you." I told him in his last moment.

After he was gone, I just sat on the ground feeling numb. A pair of arms rap around me, then another, then another.
"You know he was only trying to protect me. He was just a rogue shadow from the nightmare room hellbent on protecting me at all cost. He saw my sadness and took it upon himself to save me. No natter what." A monotone voice escaped my mouth without permission.

They hugged me close, comforting my broken body. "Do you hate me?" I whispered out so quite that I was sure they hadn't heard.

"Never." Patton whispered back.

A sudden sob left my mouth. How could they still love me even though I lied to them for years. How could they so willingly love me and all my faults.

"Why did you forgive me?"

"Because you've done nothing wrong." Patton stated it as if it were fact. Before I could say anything about how I had lied to them about Conner, Patton continued. "Conner is in the past and we love you just the way you are."

"Also we should be the ones apologizing. Not only did we neglect to notice the signs, we ignored the silent pleas for affection that you sent to us," Logan lectured.

"And I love you just the way you are Virgil. Dark eyeshadow and all," Roman added while cupping my face in his hands.
I leaned into the touch, nuzzling against him.

Suddenly a thought came to mind. I jumped up and ran out of the room. The others were left in total confusion.
