As the sun passes the horizon and dusk falls
As the town grows ever closer
A darkness builds within
A sadness and tension wells up inside
For her heart lies not in her own town, but with the one she loves
The closer to town she gets
The higher the walls grow
The harder her heart becomes
The farther from home she moves, the harder she longs to return
The ache is very strong at times, but is bearable in others
One day she will return home forever
But home seems a thousand miles away
Where she is, she isn't unhappy but she isn't happy
She loves her family, but her town doesn't feel like home
With him, where her heart lies, is where home is
Spending time with him feels different now
Long ago the days of butterflies in the tummy and a speeding heart faded
But in its place a peace and quiet blooms
While racing hearts and butterflies come about time to time
It is a feeling of home that remains
A feeling that she holds tight
While the darkness and walls grow inside her
She clutches to that feeling and refuses to let go
One day, she will return
And at home she will stay
