Chapter 20: Identities

"Like I'd let you cut me off so easily, Chat Noir!" Lady WiFi bellowed. Chat threw his baton at her which split in two in the air. As she was distracted by those Chat destroyed the signal tower with his cataclysm. After that it was only hand to hand combat. You noticed Ladybug come onto the roof when Lady WiFi wasn't looking and the fight was easily won. As the phone was slammed against the concrete of the roof and Ladybug purified the akuma Chat pulled you into his arms once again.

"We've got to get you home." he muttered as he carried you from roof top to roof top. Your Miraculous beeped but it didn't even register in your mind. He looked down at your face and you could see the tears build up in his eyes. Without thinking you strained yourself to bring your hand up and wipe away one that was sliding down his cheek.

You murmured with the last of your strength, "I am so, so sorry mon cherie." You could feel yourself detransform and you held Monty close to you. With your eyes closed you just let Chat Noir carry you home without caring that he saw who you were. All you could do was hang limply in his arms as the pain hit you in waves. You could feel the change in the atmosphere when Chat entered your room. You opened your eyes once he felt him sit you on your bed. The sight of him was too much for you and you could feel the tears collect before they started falling. Your heart was completely destroyed and you didn't know what to do anymore. There was any witty remarks or anything like when you first met him. Now it was your voice breaking as the tears came pouring down like acid on your skin.

You sobbed, "I- I am so sorry chat. I can't- I- can't even protect myself." You could feel his now warm body wrap around you. His hand rubbed circles into your back as you hicced and cried into his shoulder.

"Shhh~ Shhh~ it's not your fault." He told you lovingly. You clutched him tighter before he pulled away.

"I'm just going to leave for a minute to get some stuff to clean your leg, Okay?" He softly said to you. You swallowed back more tears and nodded. For the minute he left the room you noticed Monty on your pillow and wondered if he'd be okay but before you could wonder about it another wave of pain hit you. Chat returned with a first aid kit and began to clean the gash on your leg. With each swab of antibiotics onto your wound you cried out. He hushed you as he bandaged it and whispered soothing words to you as he cleaned your face. These comforted you, but not entirely. Midway through cleaning your busted lip you stopped and held your head in your hands.

"I fucked up everything Chat! Oh my god I am so damn sorry!" You wailed. You could hear a beep and a swoosh as he cut you off.

He comforted you, "Hey, look. It's okay... Now we're even." When you lowered your hands you saw Adrien staring back at you not Chat Noir. For a moment you sat with a poker face staring at him and Adrien wondered if he had done the wrong thing but you scooped his face in your hands and crashed your lips against his. He melted into the kiss and it continued for a while before you felt your lungs burn for air and you pulled away from him.

"Je t'aime." you murmured against his lips. He smirked and pulled back to clean off your wounds again. The two of you sat in a comfortable silence before someone spoke again. His black kawami popped up from behind his shoulder.

He sang between you, "Sha La La La, Don't be shy! You gotta kiss the girl!" Adrien's cheeks flushed a rose red as you could hear monty giggling from your pillow.

"Sh-shut up Plagg." He muttered while swatting him away. you chuckled and planted a kiss on Adrien's lips again. You could never get tired of that. Of his soft kisses back. He put down the cotton swab and sighed before crawling in the bed with you. As he wrapped his arms around you you felt safe for the first time that night. However, as you closed your eyes all you could see was Alya's evil and unforgiving smirk. You tried to force yourself to sleep but night terrors attacked your mind and each time you'd wake up crying again.

"It's okay, mon chaton, it's okay." Adrien would comfort you each time you woke up sobbing into him and clutching him as if he was the only thing keeping you alive. He would kiss your forehead and bring you back to sleep each time and after the fourth time his soft spoken comforts kept you asleep throughout the night.

The next morning the two of woke up a terrible tangled mess of limbs, but you didn't care. Until you heard your parents call.

"(y/n)! We're home! Sorry we had to stay at the shop again! We brought breakfast!" They yelled out for you.

"Coming!" you croaked back and adrien helped you out of bed. The bandage on your leg was almost completely bled through but Adrien helped you down the stairs with one arm supporting your shoulders and injured leg. As you limped towards your parents they rushed towards you with a barrage of questions on their heels.

You lied, "We were attacked when Lady WiFi came. I got hurt and we came back here to camp it out." They believed you, but insisted you go to a doctor so off you went. They were iffy about letting Adrien tag along, but his hand laced with yours kept you calm on the car ride there.

Luckily for you all you needed was a few stitches and some crutches for a week. While you were happy you weren't suffering anything serious you were also worried about your role as Tigress. You wouldn't be able to help the city of Paris while on crutches. While you were getting your stitches Adrien called his father's assistant to tell her what happened. His father didn't even realize he was gone. Adrien just gave you a sad smile while you held his hand.

"Hey, since you're staying home for the day can I be your personal nurse!?" He asked like a child. You smiled and giggled.

"Sure mon chaton."
