"Soul Mates
I don't know how you are so familiar to me—or why it feels less like I am getting to know you and more as though I am remembering who you are. How every smile, every whisper brings me closer to the impossible conclusion that I have known you before, I have loved you before—in another time, a different place, some other existence."

"JingYu, wake up."
A soft voice tried to wake up a sleeping bear snoring like a whale lost in the sea. The gentle rocking of the man's shoulder only resulted to sharp sonorous sounds from the sleeping person.
"JingYu, you need to wake up." The man named JingYu turned to his side, grabbing the human alarm clock into a tight embraced.
In a daze as he wakes from his slumber, JingYu muttered, "Give me five minutes." Trapped in a hold of an unyielding arms, Zhou Zhou's squirming form was like a worm wiggling up from the wet folds out of the dirt. JingYu's arms clasped tighter, successfully restricting the writhing person.
"JingYu!" Cried out Zhou Zhou. "If you don't let me go now, I'm gonna squeeze your balls until they popped!"
Groaning, JingYu loosened his grip, but didn't let go.
"JingYu," whined Zhou Zhou, stretching out his boyfriend's name. "I'm really getting hungry, and you not waking up so we can eat, is starting to piss me off."
Undistinguished the words that were said by JingYu, Zhou Zhou's promise became true. Suddenly, the room became lively as sharp shrills echoed to their soundproofed four walls.
"Okay, I'm awake! Stop squeezing the shit out of my balls!" JingYu, whose wide awake, rubbed his balls to ease the numbing pain. "Instead of squeezing it, could you have just, you know, massaged it for me?"
"I would have if you woke up when I said to wake up." Stand up to his feet, and free from the confined arms of JingYu, Zhou Zhou crossed his arms and glared at his lover. "Now, let's go and eat. The food will get cold and all the microwaving that I did will be for nothing."
Sighing, JingYu heeded Zhou Zhou and followed him into the kitchen area. In his sight, left over dishes from last nights food were emitting steams, rice looked plump and white, and the dishware already in place. The aroma entered JingYu's nose, his nostrils flared as the smell triggered an intense hunger.
"Thank you, baobei."
"Seriously, you need to start waking up on time. How do you even have time to do things?"
"I usually lazed on my off days, munched on some celeries or carrot sticks, or whatever fruit and vegetables that's in my fridge. Drink some yogurt or juices. Unlike you, eating noodles and such as."
[A/N: I hate celeries. And I love noodles. Even if you give me a million dollars to eat a sack of celeries, I'd have to burn the billion dollars first, then the celeries. Even when I'm at my desperate hour or seconds of dying from hunger, I'd rather die. Just thinking about celeries is giving me the shivers. And this is me if I see celeries (۶ૈ ᵒ̌ Дᵒ̌)۶ૈ=͟͟͞͞ ⌨. That's how I hate celeries so badly.]"I know. Celeries and carrots are great, you should put some meat into your diet, too."
"Ah, but too much meat isn't good. Anything too much isn't healthy for you. And skipping meals is bad for you," JingYu lectured his boyfriend, knowing their habits of eating.
[A/N: Who here has unhealthy eating habits? *Raises hands* ~crickets blasting in the room~ |д・)]Side eyeing to the left, Zhou Zhou took a piece of meat and broccoli, shoving it to his mouth. A moment of silence captured both of them as they ate in peace. JingYu kept his eyes on his boyfriend, eating in a slow pace. In his eyes, Zhou Zhou looked like a brooding cat, muttering to himself.
"Zhou Zhou, here have some of the sweet and sour pork. I know it's one of your favorite foods." JingYu placed the pork piece dripping with sticky red sauce on Zhou Zhou's rice bowl.
[A/N: I don't know ZZ personally, and I forgot what he said in interviews, so this might be false. Plus, its fanfiction... ( ̄ω ̄)]"Hmph," Zhou Zhou sounded his disapproval, despite eating the peace offering. "Today's our last day together, we shouldn't be fighting." His face turned upside down as he said those words.
Setting down his rice bowl and chopsticks, JingYu got up from his seat. He left the kitchen, leaving the other person in the other seat puzzled. Zhou Zhou didn't go after his boyfriend, knowing he will come back. Five minutes after eating his food, Zhou Zhou heard the scrapes of chair against their tiled floor.
"Where'd you go, JingYu?" Worry etched on his face, Zhou Zhou abandoned what he was doing altogether. Seeing JingYu with his hands in his back, the younger man was even more confused. "What's wrong? What's that behind your back?"
JingYu gulled, pulling his hands out to show what he had behind him. Presented to Zhou Zhou in his hands was an open black box showing the contents of it. Lodged between the folds of the box were two silver rings, one was a little bigger than the other.
"JingYu..."
"Be with me until the end of time?" Proposed JingYu, bending his knees while the two palms of his balanced the housing of the two rings. "There's more than twelve ways of loving you... As long as you let me, I can show them to you if you say yes."
There was determination in JingYu's declaration for his love to Zhou Zhou, but there was also uncertainty. JingYu knows that their love is real, but to solidify it was up to his partner. Mutual love between two people needs to be nurtured and cared for in order to last long. As long the love is real and true, it will withstand all the storms and problems to come.
Tears had ran on Zhou Zhou's crimson cheeks and breathes shaky, staring at the gleaming silver bands. Emotion ran high for Zhou Zhou, and he couldn't utter any words. He nodded as he jumped out of his seat and into JingYu's figure. His arms encircling the body and inched his head to the crook of the other person's neck. His heart poured out blood like a waterfall, the heartbeat matched a staccato music.
"When we're ready to tell our love for everyone, be there for me?" His whispers vibrated on his skin. JingYu's free hand placed it on the back of Zhou Zhou, patting and rubbing in circular motion.
"Always," was JingYu's answer.
"Then, yes." Zhou Zhou let go of JingYu and moved a little to give them space. He held out his left hand, waiting for his soul mate to adorn his finger with their proof of love.
"I know our love don't need proof for it to be real, but I pray our love never wither and perish. Spending time with you since we met, you have made me the happiest person."
"As I am."
Hands snaked to their necks, gradually moving to rake their fingers into their locks of hair. Their face inched closer until the tip of their nose touching, their breathes caressing the other's lips. They slowly eased each other, their mouth locked into a passionate kiss. JingYu and Zhou Zhou eventually lost in their own world, their love never wavering through time and space.
