"Hey. Oh come on in." Stephanie greeted us at the door. And as we walked in, we hear "Heyyy!!!" from several voices. I'm wrapped into an awkward group hug between Lewis, Ryan, and Baz. Once released, I felt arms wrapped around and was lifted in the air and was spun around.
"The little redhead is here!"
"Ryan! Please put me down!" I screamed
"No!"
"Please."
"Maybe."
"Ryan!"
"Okay." He put me back down. It was just like me to fall on my butt the second my feet touch the ground.
"Oof"
"Here let me help you"Rhys said as he lifted me back up.
"Thanks." I said as I blushed.
"No problem." He wrapped his arms around me. I hugged back. I could melt as I felt his slim body and smelt his cologne. I pulled away after about a minute and noticed everyone was watching us. My face turned even brighter.
"So who's up for some tea?" Matthew asked. Everyone said yes. An hour passed, filled with laughter and smiles, Chris and Jason came through the front door, carrying grocery bags.
"We got the stuff" Jason yells.
"Awesome." Matthew says.
"Stuff?" I asked.
"Stuff to make hamburgers."
"Oh."
So we moved the party outside in the backyard. Dad was grilling the hamburgers and everyone else were setting up the chairs and tables.
"You know I think the table is crooked." I said jokingly to Rhys as I stepped back.
"No it can't be." he said.
"Yes it is. Look." I pointed at it.
"No." he said examining it.
"I think you're blind."
"I'm not-" He looked at me. I grinned.
"You're mean, you know that? You really had me." I laughed.
"Okay burgers are getting done." Dad calls from the grill. Rebecca and Steph help him with setting up with the rest of the food. Soon the burgers were done and everyone slowly getting food.
"After you." A voice said from behind me. I turned around to find Rhys looking at me.
"No after you." I said as I went around him and started pushing him. He laughs. We were the last ones to get to the table with food. As we started creating our hamburgers, we talked.
"So how's life?" he asked.
"Um... I'm still getting use to this new life."
"Understandable. I mean I don't blame you. I don't know what I'd if it were me, you know? ON the bright side, you do seem to be handling it well."
"Thanks. So what about you?"
"Oh. My life's great. It be even better if YouTube wasn't so bad about uploading videos." he stated.
"Oh I see." I laughed.
"Yeah, I mean the support from the fans is really comforting." he said. I could tell there was more he wanted to say.
"But." I said trying to get more info.
"No, no buts."
"Rhys, please its me."
"Okay, well. Its just... um... that.. um..." It was easy to tell that he was struggling to say whatever it was on his mind.
"Rhys. Seriously just say it. You know you can tell me anything." I stated firmly. He took a deep breath and finally said," well sometimes it gets very hard and so it would be nice to have someone to share the hard times with." He looked away, blushing.
"Oh... um... well I don't... " Now I'm the one who's struggling to speak.
"Don't worry about it. I'm fine really. It gets -"
"Lonely." I finished for him.
"Yeah." he sighed. We met eye contact with understanding between the two of us. And with that we both finished put our hamburgers together and walked to one of the tables. There were two round tables placed together. One the right was Matthew, Steph, Jason, Chris, Rebecca, and Dad. On the left was Baz, Ryan, and Lewis. Being as there were more room, Rhys and I sat on the left.
"Well took you two long enough." Lewis said.
"Oh shut it. We were just talking. You know catching up." Rhys said.
"It looked more than catching up." Ryan said then winked. I glared at him. Ryan knows that I like Rhys. He figured it out and then confronted me about it. Eventually I gave in and conformed it. But after he'd tackled me to the ground.
"Oh please, let's act our age for once."
"Have you met us?" Baz asked.
"Good point." I said.
"Heyy" Rhys whined.
"You can't say anything because you're more immature then the four of us at this table and you're the oldest." I said. He pouted. Aw how cute.
"No its not going to work."
"But, but."
"No, no buts." He started leaning on me and wrapping his arms around me. We started laughing.
"Hey what's going on over there." Matthew asked.
"She being mean."Rhys said. I laughed harder.
"All I said was that he's more immature than everyone at this table."
"Its true." Steph says. Everyone laughs except Rhys.
"Okay, okay. I get it. I get it." he sighs.
"Aw did someone get his feelings hurts?" I asked in a baby voice.
"No..."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. " he says smiling.
"Good." Everyone went back to eating. After hours of talking and playing, it was getting late so we all decided to go to bed.
