I wake up in a unfamiliar environment with the great smell of coffee. As I open my eyes I see Jughead making some coffee. As he turns around I notice that he isn't wearing his beanie. "Newsflash, the boy has actually decent hair." I joke as I take the cup of coffee that he gives me.
"No really I thought the beanie was for hiding a bald spot or something, my bad." I continue joking. Jughead gives me a light push while I get out of bed and take my pack of cigarettes out of my bag. I see him looking with a slightly disgusted face, "Yes I know, smoking is bad for me and will kill me.". He puts his hand in the air, "I'm not judging Mel, enjoy your life while every pull shortens your life." he says with a wink. I laugh at his comment and continue to go outside.
I take my phone out and let out a big sigh watching my recent messages:
"Hm great." I mutter to myself while inhaling the toxic smoke. I feel a presence next to me and notice Jughead waiting for me to explain. "Well I kinda am short on cash right now. So it's paying for gas until I'm out of money or staying here for a bit and try to find a job." I say while throwing away my cigarette. I see Jughead thinking before he speaks, "Why are you short on cash? Don't you have someone to help you or...?"
I shake my head while explaining my situation to him, "No my parents won't give me money anymore. I maybe dropped out of university. And well they weren't that happy with my decision." Jughead nods as he starts to put things in his backpack, "What did you study?" he asks. "I was studying journalism, but I just don't feel ready for university right now. I didn't attend class that much 'cause I was still hangover in the morning from all the parties I went to." I joke while taking another cup of coffee.
I notice Jughead taking his backpack once all packed and giving me a key, " We both know sticking around and finding a job is a better idea than leaving now." I look at him knowing he's right. "So I'll give you my key, 'cause I need to go to school." What, that means he is still in high school. I look confused at Jughead, "Wait how old are you?". "I know my looks can be deceiving but I'm actually 16. What about you, over 18 guess?."
"Yeah 19 to be correct, but it's okay kiddo. Age doesn't matter, although I don't tend to hang out with younger people..." I say while thinking about something else. "Wait a minute Jughead, where are your mom and dad?" as I move closer to him. I see him getting uncomfortable. "My mom moved away with my little sister couple years ago. And my dad...well he is not really a father figure. " I nod and decide to rest my case because I see Jughead getting a bit irritated by my questions.
"Oh by the way, check out Pops or the Riverdale Register for a job." he shouts as I light up another cigarette. Well that's maybe a good idea, I'll go check Pops first and then try to find the Riverdale Register.

" Told him good luck with the next one, maybe she'll be just as immature." I sing while arriving at Pops. I take of my headphones while interring the small diner looking for Pop. "Hey young lady, hope you still got some work done last night?" he ask while I take a seat at the bar.
