I woke up feeling like a wreck. My throat ached from crying, and I had a massive headache. The light from my window hurt my eyes, and I buried my face back into the pillow.

There was a light knock on my door, and I ignored it. It happened again, and I groaned.

"Come in," I called, wincing. The door opened, and a maid peeked her head in.

"Would you like to come down for breakfast?" She asked. I turned and buried my face in the pillow again.

"No thank you," I said, my voice muffled by the fabric. The sound of the door closing was quiet, but it still sent waves of pain through my head. I don't know when I nodded off, but when I opened my eyes again, my headache was better. I sat up.

The light outside was a little darker; I'd slept for a long time. I stumbled out of bed and shuffled to my closet to get dressed. I refused to think about the previous night as I tugged a shirt over my head. After I was fully clothed, I made my way to the dining room.

Roy was there, standing at the table, and my heart leaped. He and a man I'd never seen before were talking quietly. I made sure to make a little noise so he'd hear me. He turned and spotted me, giving me a smile and a wink before turning back to the other man. I took this as an invitation to stand beside him as they talked, and I padded up beside him.

He wrapped an arm around my waist and nodded at the man, who nodded back and left the dining room. I looked at Roy questioningly. He only smiled and kissed my forehead.

"Are you hungry?" He asked, moving to pull a chair out for me. I sat in and watched him.

He wasn't wearing a suit like he usually did. Instead, he wore a loose blue t-shirt that made his eyes appear more golden, and a pair of dark jeans with simple black sneakers. He looked like the Roy I knew before everything happened. His sandy hair was a soft blond mess, and his strong tan arms stood out against the blue of his shirt. He was a different kind of beautiful than Sebastian.

I mentally slapped myself for thinking about Sebastian.

And then again for thinking his name.

Roy took my silence as a yes and called a maid over. He asked her to bring something small, and she nodded and left immediately. Roy sat beside me.

"Are you okay?" He asked. I nodded, but it didn't ease any of the worry in his eyes. He reached over and grabbed my hand.

"I brought gifts," He said with a smile.

"You didn't have to buy me anything," I argued. His grin widened.

"I didn't buy you anything."

I stared at him, confused. He had a very satisfied expression his face.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I'll show you after dinner," He promised. He squeezed my hand and leaned over to kiss my cheek.

I wasn't sure if it was a good time to tell him what I chose. Would he ask me about it?

A different maid walked into the room with a large silver platter in her hand. She placed it on the table.

"The chef wasn't sure what you meant by 'small', so he made several options." She explained. Roy nodded and thanked her, and she left just as quickly as she came. Roy lifted the lid off of the platter.

There were a variety of foods on it, ranging from simple finger sandwiches to small, sweet chocolates. I took a sandwich and nibbled on it. Roy drummed his fingers against the table as I ate, and after a second, he picked up a sandwich too.

We ate in silence for a moment.

"I'm not sure if you're ready for this question yet," He said hesitantly. "But have you decided what you'd like to do?"

There it was. The question I'd decided the answer to out of anger. I thought about my argument with Sebastian, and the fury returned, duller but still present. I nodded.

"I'll marry you," I said in what I hoped was a strong voice. Roy's eyes widened in shock.

"Really?" He asked, hope in his eyes. My heart warmed as I saw his lips forming into a boyish grin, and I nodded. He got out of his chair and grabbed my hands. He kissed each of my knuckles, and pulled me into a tight hug. It was really warm there, in his arms, and I smiled against his chest.

"Thank you," He said, kissing my head. "You're amazing."

He pulled away and winked at me.

"Ready for your presents?" He asked, excitement in his voice.

"Yes," I said cautiously. He twined his fingers with mine and led me out of the dining room and down the hall. We walked for a while, and I noticed we were on our way to my room.

"My room?" I asked. He looked back at me and grinned.

We stopped by my closed door, and Roy turned to me.

"Are you ready?" He asked. Nervous, I nodded. He leaned in and kissed my forehead. Then, he placed his hand on the doorknob and opened it.

It took me a second to comprehend what was in my room. When my sluggish brain caught up, I gasped and launched myself at my present.

Kaden caught me, laughing. I pulled away and, much to my utter joy, saw the black kitten struggling out of his arms. I gave a shocked laugh and looked at Roy, not believing it was real. Elmer couldn't really be considered a kitten anymore, and a tiny piece of me was sad that I didn't get to see him grow up. He jumped out of Kaden's arms and immediately began to inspect his new surroundings.

"How?" I asked Roy, amazed. I hugged Kaden again.

"Isaac contacted me a few days ago." Was all he said. I didn't turn to look at his expression. I pulled away from Kaden and punched him hard on his arm. He winced.

"What was that for?" He asked.

"What the Hell, Kaden?!" I shouted.

Kaden made some very wrong choices when Sebastian's kingdom was destroyed. He betrayed me several times, but only because he thought that what he was doing was better for me. He and Roy became close during that whole time, because they both were trying to protect me in ways different that Sebastian.

Still, it didn't mean I wasn't angry.

Kaden rolled his eyes.

"That was a long time ago." He said.

"And you never even apologized," I said, crossing my arms. Elmer rubbed against my ankles, effectively melting any anger I harbored. In truth, I was just happy Kaden and my cat were safe.

"Sorry." He said, giving me a grin he knew I couldn't stay mad at. It was my turn to roll my eyes.

"Elizabeth?" Roy asked. I turned and saw his hesitant expression. He held out a hand and I took it, over the moon. I was beyond grateful that he did this. He put his lips close to my ear as Kaden rove his hand around my bed under the blanket, challenging Elmer to a duel.

"I'll have Elmer some furniture brought in shortly, and Kaden knows where his room is. If you'd like, after you spend some time with him, we can go out to shop for a ring." He whispered. My heart thudded unevenly, and I nodded. Here Roy was, giving me everything I wanted. I shoved Sebastian to the back of my mind and hugged him.
