A Winchester does not break.A Winchester does not cry.
Not unless they have lost one of their own.
It was a dark night, and the monsters won.
The small silver blade cut into the flesh like a hot knife in butter. The blood ran down his side, and kept flowing as he hit the dirt floor. His eyes fluttered, as the night sky became closer and closer. A sharp gasp left his lips as the air slowly let out of his chest.
The last monster went down, and it wasn't till you looked around that you saw your uncle on the ground. His hands were dark red as it clutched his side. Your ears were filled with a beating heart, your own. The long strides you made quickly landed you to his side, and your hands found its way to his. Screams left your mouth as tears fell down your face.
It felt like years had past till your father had made it over. His hands were shaking, and he held his brother's face.
"Don't you die on me." Your Father yelled, his voice cracking. "I'll...I'll call Cas...just, just keep your eyes open!"
But you watch as your uncle gave you both a small smile. He knew his time was up.
"Goodnight, Jerk." He whispered. Then his chest stopped moving, and his eyes glossed over.
"SAMMY!" Your Father screamed over and over again, shaking his body to try and make up his baby brother. You let go of your uncle's hands and sat back. This couldn't be reality, it couldn't be.
You didn't realize how long you had truly been sitting in disbelief until you watched the Impala drive away. Your Father was too clouded in grief and denial that he left you behind. Your Uncle Sam's blood stuck to your top and your skin.
"Ca-Castiel, I pray to thee...please come...its Sammy." You called out. Two large arms wrapped around you in comfort and you knew it was your uncle Cas. Castiel had always been there for you, through your dark teen years and all. You were the only Winchester to give him respect as an angel. "Cas....he is gone."
"I know...I felt it." Cas whispered. "I cannot bring him back Y/N. I'm sorry."
That was the final blow to make you crack. A sob left your cracked lips as your body shook in pain. Your favorite Moose wouldn't be there when you woke up at the crack at dawn. He wouldn't be there when you got stuck in a research book, and needed someone to bounce ideas off of.
With in a blink of an eye, you were on the hardwood flooring of the library in the bunker. A trail of blood past by you and continued to the white and green hallway. Castiel was no longer there, and it was probably for the best.
Your weak legs got you on your feet to follow the drops of blood on the white tile. It wasn't hard to figure out where it would lead to. Your Uncle's room. The hallway felt like it got smaller with every step.
"Damn it Cas! Get your feathery ass down here now!" You heard your father scream. You found him pacing in Sam's room. Sam's body laid on the bed in peace, his arms laid by his side. His head was resting against the pillow. His skin almost matched the pillow. His eyes were shut in slumber...eternal slumber.
"Daddy." You squeaked out. Your voice was trapped behind layers of grief, pain and sadness. "Daddy, he's not comin'."
Your Father's green eyes snapped on to you. His eyes were glassy and held a red tint to them. His hands were turning white from how tight his fists were.
"Shut up! He is comin'!" He shouted in your face. "He is gonna come here and bring him back!"
"I asked him already...he can't Daddy." You croaked. "Daddy, we need to say good-bye."
