Warnings: depression, self harm

It was like any normal night. The boys were out could in their bedrooms, for the hunt had tired them out. But not you. You were huddled in your bathroom against the cold floor. Shorts were on, showing you the scars of your past.

It wasn't unlikely for a hunter to fall in depression, but for you, it was too much. For years you have dealt with it. You even took a multi-year break from Hunting, but the thoughts still hurt. It went from just a dark hold on your mind, to the pain becoming real on your flesh.

You had no clue if the boys truly understood what was going on. They knew you were upset in your head but that pretty much was it. The guilt of them knowing what you go through was not something you wanted. It was easier to put on a fake smile then to see them hurting over you. And for you, that risk was worth it. You had no problem with pain, but as long as it was inflicted on you and not others.

The cold bathroom tile floor laid goosebumps along your skin. Fresh wounds laid along your legs, for it was the easiest place to hide them. It was hard to recognize your flesh with all the scars. Words that filled your head was now cut into your skin. To always remind you of the imperfections.

It was 2am on a sunday, the boys were asleep from the long day. You never slept though. The voices of pain were too loud to sleep. Instead you went back to the blade. The Voices spoke to you as you hurt yourself. They filled your mind that you were bad, weak and unworthy.

"(Y/N)?" A voice called out to you. The dark voices silence for the moment. "It's Sam, can you open the door?"

You looked at the door, then at the pain you made. You didn't make a sound, not being able to trust that your voice would make him believe you were okay.

"Kiddo, open up. It is almost 8 in the morning, and Dean is making breakfast." Sam called out once again.

You blinked when he said it was 8 am. Six hours you had been here, and it felt like moments. It was then that you could see the true damage. The blood staining the once pearl white tiles. The skin that once was recognizable on your thighs. Your hands shook in coldness and shock. A sob escaped your lips, and you couldn't stop it.

Then a warm hand covers your ice cold ones.

You looked up to see Sam there. He gave you a small smile. He gently removed the blade from your hand and began to use the first aid kit he brought in on your wounds. Not once did he give you pity eyes, and not once did he make a remark about them.

After it was all cleaned up, Sam helped you stand. You stood only to wrap yourself around your brother. More tears fell as you clung to him. It was like a dream you never wanted to wake up from. Sam lifted you up in his arms and walked you towards your bed. He helped you get dressed, but he didn't let one thing go.

He made sure you wore shorts and a tank top.

All of the scars and the pain you held secret were now open to the public.

"Come on, Dean made your favorite breakfast." Sam said with another smile, as if nothing had happened.

You weren't sure whether to be confused or hurt by his unfazed actoins towards this.

The two of you enetered the bunker kitchen where all of your favorite breakfast foods were laid out. Dean sat there with a cup of coffee in his hand. He notices teh both of you and smiled.

"Glad someone got ready to go this morning. I was worried Sammy fell asleep on his way to get you." Dean said. "come on, eat up."

Sam had seated you down next to Dean as Dean filled up your plate. It wasn't a large portion of food, just a little bit of everything. Once you began to eat, Dean shoved a piece of chocolate covered strawberry in his mouth.

"Eat as much as you can, cause we are going on an adventure this morning." Dean explained to you. "Me and Sam already loaded up Baby."

"Where are we going?" You asked them.

"It's a surprise." Sam told you.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Impala ride was warm and inviting. The Windows were down as the sun poured through the open spaces. Dean and Sam bickered as usual about music choices, as well as get you to laugh at stupid memories.

The sent of salt water grew. You crawled up to the window to see the ocean on your left side. The smell always brought you comfort. You placed your arms against the window opening and laid your head on your hands. The wind pushed your hair and along with it, the dark voices drew away.

Dean parked on the beach and Sam walked over to your side and pulled you out. He held your hand as he walked you to the large rocks. The Two of you climbed them till you got to the top. The Sun shined right on the two of you. The warmth filled your body as it craved for more.

You sat on the top of that rock and just let the sun bath you in its beauty. Sam and Dean set up a mini picnic like area on the rock. For hours the three of you sat there. Barley any words were exchanged, it wasn't needed. When it came time to eat lunch, Dean and you had a mini food fight with the grapes. Giggles poured out of your mouth, a sound that hadn't been heard in years. A real laugh finally was heard.

Then the sun began to fall, and the chilly weather came back. Sam place Dean's jacket on your shoulders.

"The Sun, is warm and inviting. And it never seems to stop shining. But the moon is no different." Sam explained as the moon rose in the sky. "The moon shows us beauty in the dark, and that it isn't always too dark to see. You just need to look up and see the moon light around you."

Sam went on his knees and grasped your hand.

"Night or Day, asleep or awake. No matter what we are here for you." Sam said with a smile. "We fight the monsters out there but we can help fight the ones in here."

He pointed to your head, then left a kiss on your forehead.

"You aren't alone. (Y/N), we will always be here for you. No matter if we are tired from a hunt or just lounging with a bottle of beer. You are our sister, and we love you no matter what." Dean said as he wrapped his arms around you in comfort.

The three of you stood there hugging until the moon fully came out to the sky. The moon shined directly on you there.

It was a calling to know there is some light in the darkness and it is never truly impossible to be alone. Not when you had these two people next to you to care for you.

You are not alone and You will always keep fighting.

Because now you have a reason to.
