?????? ???'s POV
''YOU SPOILED BR-!'' My brother screams in my face as I glare at him and point to the door. My mom was standing there with bags under her eyes. Her eyes seem to be red shot and she looked like she hasn't slept in days. ''Can you two lower the noise? It's hurting my eardrums.'' She complains and swipes something off her phone with a small smile curling up on her lips. Tsk, like my mom really cares about what we're doing. My family hasn't been in the best shape for the past few days because my sister has gone missing. I'm not sure where she's gone, and why she's gone. I mean, she's only a few years old.
''Seriously? This, is hurting your eardrums? I've been yelling foreign words right in your face for the past 2 days and you have not yet complained once.'' My brother shoots back with a sad frown and he stomps of out my room angrily. I sigh, siblings and their anger issues. I turn my head to face my mom and I smile. ''You haven't been sleeping, have you?'' I slowly speak, and take a seat on my bed. She shakes her head tiredly and rubs her eyelids. ''You should get some rest, I'll get lunch ready, hopefully I don't burn the house down.'' I mutter and pet my mom's head as I pass by her.
Before I leave the room, I hear a grunt come out of my mom's mouth. And a soft spoken ''Rest? I don't even know what that is anymore''. My eyes wander around as I make my way down to the kitchen. My small turtle that I have yet to name trails behind me obediently. Along the way down, I listed long words such as ''sundermatoglyphic'', ''supercalifragilisticeexpialidocious'', and ''sesquipedalianism'' as well as how to spell them. I loved learning new and long words, they challenge me to use my voice that I don't enjoy using very often in front of other people.
Once I get into the kitchen, I immediately worked on fixing lunch. I decided to make some fruit bowls. Us mermaids don't really enjoy eating meat and animals, it's awful and disgusting. Before I continue to whip up the meal, my mother peaks her head through the side of the entrance. ''I forgot to say this, but we're having guests today. I heard they're ''royal'' apparently.'' She sighs and leaves. How did my mom book a lunch with royals, when she can barely get one with other people? Exactly.
For the next two hours, I spent my time cooking for the guests we were going to have as well as my own family. As I set the food down as well as the silverware and plates, I saw a few tails pass by the front window. Oh, they're probably here. A grunt escapes my lips and I quickly swim towards my mother's room. She stood under the frame in the entrance and acknowledged the fact that I was in front of her. ''They're here, I'm going to get ready now.'' I give her a nod and she exhales. We immediately part ways.

''Mom's asking for you.'' My brother sheepishly grins.
''Um, okay. I'll be down in a sec. I just need to quickly get something.''
''Yeah, alright. I wonder if mom knows who these people are?''
''Oh, wow. Mom is THAT smart enough to invite strangers into our house for lunch.''
He snorts,''You never know.''
''What is that suppose to mean?''
He winks jokingly at me, and I stare at him wide eyed as he leaves. Did he just wink at me? What the melons just happened? Alright, I think my own brother just winked at me. Is world war 3 going to happen now? Is that what's going to happen? I decided not to question it, and pretend that it just didn't happen. I quickly slipped on a crown with many gems and pearls in it. My great grand mother lended it down to me, and it's the only thing I have to remind me of her smart comebacks and her lemon custard cakes.
''Perfect.'' I smiled to myself as I glanced at the mirror of my own reflection. Appearance never mattered to me, but for some odd reason I felt like I needed to look like I put some effort into myself for this meal. I quickly swam down to the dining room, before my mom can start yelling into my face. The table was full of guests with glistening smiles. My eyes land on a girl around my age and I give her a small smile as she looks at me as well. ''Is this your daughter?'' A lady asks with a sweet and gentle voice. ''Indeed that is.'' My mother gives me an encouraging nod, acknowledging the fact that I put some effort in my appearance.
She's impressed. My mother is impressed. A wider smile creeps up on my face as I take a seat besides my mom. ''Why don't we start the meal?'' My mother announces. We all start on our feast, as I watch the girl in front of me nervously take small glances out the window. Should I be worried? I furrow my eyebrows and continue to stuff spoonfuls of food into my mouth. As soon as we set our spoons and forks down, the lady (possibly the mother of the children), smiles. ''That meal was really heart warming! I loved it. Anyways, this is Mina, and this is Medley. These two are my lovely daughters. There's also their assistances, Cruz, and Cove.'' She nods.
The girl who continues to look at the window seems to be named ''Mina''. It seems so familiar, but I can't figure out what and why. ''Please excuse me, I'm stuffed. I need some fresh air, is that okay mother, father, m'am?'' Mina softly smiles and wipes her mouth with a napkin. Her parents take a glance at each other and nod finally. My mother nods with a smile. She's enjoying all of this respect, I can tell. As soon as Mina leaves the room, I stand up as well. Without asking for permission to be dismissed, I run out. With the confused look on their faces, a smirk appears on my face.
They're not used to this. They should be, because I'm not giving them one hint of respect. And now, I need to find out where Mina is deciding to go in an urgent hurry.

CAN WE JUST? IDK ANYMORE. I don't know if I like how my story is going so far because it doesn't make sense at all. Each chapter seems to sprout different ways and I don't seem to get it, even if I'm the author. I'm so confused ahhh! :( I really hope I can get my game back together because it's falling apart. I'm at least dealing with the amount of posts I'm posting!!
I'm going to go take a nap now. Happy martin luther king Jr. day! Sorry if nothing seems to make sense in this story.
Sloppy corgi kisses,
Angelina.
