Ivorys pov

We follow Rook deeper into the woods, I can't help but be impressed that she can keep a steady trot with her injuries. After about a mile I can finally smell the moose, how Rook could smell him from the den I don't know. Rook slows to a slow walk with her ears perked and her nose to the air,

"We will split here, he is in a meadow that is just up ahead. Rain and Sticks start from the right, Ivory and Cyclone pick a side and get ready. Broach and Willow wait to the left for it to be almost by you to attack."

We're all not sure but don't want to speak our minds,

"Alright, go now."

The six of us look at each other before looking back at Rook, but she is no longer there the only evidence that she was are faint humongous paw prints. The others head to their places and I do the same, I choose the side closest to where we started, hiding just in the brush. Suddenly there is a loud bellow and the moose comes running across the field like Rook said it would, I race out at it at the same time as Cyclone and we nip at its hind legs. We near Broach and Willows spot the moose making no sign of changing direction, just as Rook commanded they wait for it to be almost by them before pouncing on it and clawing at is shoulders and flank successfully disabling it. A growl rips through the air and Rook leaps over my head, it's like it's in slow motion, I can see the muscles ripple under her fur, see her open her mouth showing her large k9s that are dripping with saliva, and how her red eyes glow with hatred and the will to kill. Rook lands directly on the Moose's back and it tumbles to the ground, it struggles a bit but is unable to get up before she sinks her teeth into its neck snapping it like it's a twig. We all watch her as she releases its neck and steps off of it with a grunt before looking at us,

"Well done, you all executed the plan perfectly. We will carry it back to the den so that we will not have to come all the way out here if we need more for the pups."

I perk my ears with curiosity, "How are we going to do that? That thing is huge there is no way we can carry it a mile back to the den even with all seven of us."

Rook looks at me with a mischievous glint in her eyes, "You won't be carrying anything, Princess."

I widen my eyes in shock.

Why did she call me Princess!? And why did I like it?!

Rook grabs the moose by the neck again and swings the entire body onto her back like it weighs nothing, we all watch on in disbelief. We walk rather quickly back to the den even though Rook has a 500lbs moose on her back and still oozing gashes, at the den she pulls it off her shoulder and smiles at the pups before moving away and laying down licking her wound. I eat but watch her as I do so. I note the way her ears flick in different directions and occasionally she will look up into the woods to watch a squirrel scurry around near her like she isn't there, I note how she holds herself like the world is watching her. As I'm watching Rook I feel someone's eyes on me and look to see Willow staring at me intently, I lower my head in respect but she motions me over with her head. Once to her she puts her jaw around my muzzle and growls lowly, I immediately submit by laying on the floor and whimpering,

"I will ask you questions and you will answer truthfully." She uses her Alpha voice so I can't deny her,

"Yes Alpha."

I whimper again before she releases her hold on me, she stares into my eyes for a minute before sighing,

"I'm sorry I did that to you Ivory, but I knew I had to if I wanted the truth."

I just nod my head still laying on the ground, she lays across from me and turns serious again, "Ivory, how do you feel about Rook?"

The question catches me off guard but I have to answer truthfully as much I hate having to, "She intrigues me."

Willow nods her head to herself, "What do you feel when around her?"

I look at my paws and think for a moment before answering, "I feel excited and nervous. I don't really know how to describe it."

I watch as Willows eyes light up in realization to something, she stands up wagging her tail like a pup, "Ivory I can't believe it I'm so happy for you!"

I wince at her loud voice and look around to see if the others are paying attention, my brother, Cyclone, Zera and the twins are too busy with the pups but Rook's ears are turned toward us,

"What is that supposed to mean Willow?" I ask quietly, Willow just gives me a goofy grin,

"You found your mate, girly!"

My heart stops, literally. I struggle to breath and I curl in on myself, it feels like something is trying to claw its way out of my chest. I hear muffled voices and see the blurry shape of a black wolf with red eyes filled with concern, then I realize it. What wants to come out is my heart and feelings. They want to be given to the dark she-wolf and replaced by hers.
