Harry's P.O.V

I liked watching Kendyl, as she got ready for bed. It had become one of my favorite parts of the day. That and going to bed together.

"I have to tell you something and then ask for a favor." Kendyl brought up once she shut the bathroom light off before heading over to the bed.

I made room for her, allowing her get comfortable. I waited for her to say what she had to say. She looked at me for a second, studying my face. It took me a second to realize that she was trying to figure out what kind of mood I was in.

"Kenny, just tell me what you need to say. I am all ears." I stated sincerely.

"I need to get this surgery done. Nothing crazy. It's just something I need to do. That was the thing I needed to tell you. Now what I need to ask you is if you minded getting all of my school work for me while I'm out." Kendyl finally dropped the hammer on me.

I frowned for second looking at her directly in the eyes. In my head, her words were repeating themselves. She was saying it as if it was nothing.

"Great. I knew I shouldn't have told you." Kendyl muttered pinching the edge of her nose.

I sat up in the bed hastily but my body was still facing hers.

"How long did you wait to tell me this? What's going on with you? Are you okay?" I questioned looking Kendyl over. Really looking her over this time.

She seemed perfectly fine to me. But you never know. I searched every last surface of her face in hopes to find something wrong.

"Nothing is wrong Harry. I just need this surgery and I'll be fine."

"But if you're fine, why do you need this surgery?" I pointed out. Kendyl wasn't making any sense. They don't just cut you open for no reason. Everything, everything had a reasoning behind it 100% of the time.

"Why do you have to push the situation? Can't you just accept that I need surgery?" Kendyl pleaded running a hand through her hair in distress.

"Are you serious?" I look at her bewildered.

"You're welcome to go sleep in your own dorm." She mumbled instead of answering my question.

"Oh, now she wants to kick me out too." I remarked darkly.

"I'm not going to fight with you Harry. I need to stay calm. You are aware of that right?" She snapped glaring directly at me.

Naturally and instinctively, I wanted to feel bad. I knew she said that to trigger guilt. I also knew that Kenny was using that to change the subject. I wasn't going to let her use that to shut me down.

"I'm not trying to fight with you. I'm just asking you what's wrong and why you waited to tell me this. You're just mad because I don't just simply jump when you tell me to. You must be used to that but that's not the real world sweetie." I snapped back.

Kendyl and I stared each other down for a few seconds.

I loved the girl with everything that I had to give. Most days, I couldn't get enough of her. At the same time, I couldn't stand her sometimes. I looked at her with so much anger and rage that it felt like I was boiling inside.
