I woke up and realized that I was inches from Brendon's face and he was still hugging me. I smiled and kissed him on the nose. He looked so peaceful while sleeping. I stroked his face and ran my hands through his soft hair. He moaned a little and pulled me closer to him. He opened his eyes after a few minutes and saw me. He gave me a huge smile (like always) and kissed my forehead.
"Good Morning princess," he muttered.
I giggled a little because he called me "princess." "Good morning Bren. How did you sleep?"
"This was honestly the best I've slept in months. I felt so comfortable with you sleeping next to me," he whispered still half asleep.
"You're so cute," I mumbled to myself trying to be as quite as possible so he wouldn't hear me.
"What was that?" he asked.
"Nothing," I smiled.
Brendon closed his eyes and started smiling. "You're cute too."
I laughed a little and was a bit embarrassed that he heard me. I look at the clock on my wall, 10:24 am. I usually wake up super early but I felt so comfortable with Brendon by my side. Then I felt sadness come over me. This was his last day in San Diego. I almost wanted to cry because we wouldn't be able to hang out anymore. No more hugs. No more kisses. Back to my normal, boring life. He was the only thing that actually made me happy. I haven't felt this way in the longest time. I stared at him for a while longer. He was perfect. Everything about him was just so beautiful. The way his lips were shaped. The way his soft hair fell over his face. I touched his face again and ran my fingers over his cheek. It felt a little rough since he hadn't shaved in a while and the hairs were growing back but I continued stroking it anyway. I saw Brendon's lips curl up at the sides.
It was my turn to ask. "Can I kiss you?" I practically whispered.
He opened his eyes slowly and smiled even more. "You don't have to ask."
I moved my head even closer to him, put my hands behind his head and kissed him gently. It was a rather quick kiss because I didn't want to overdo it. We opened our eyes and stared at each other, smiling...feeling as if nothing in the world was wrong. It was perfect.
I look back at the time, 10:36.
"I'm going to go make breakfast. Do you want to join?" I asked him.
"Anywhere you go, I want to go too," he smiled.
We both got up and made our way to the kitchen. I made some [favorite breakfast] for Brendon and myself. We sat down at my small table and began eating.
I put my utensil down. "So...this is your last day here, huh?" I paused, "What does that mean for us?"
He stopped eating and looked up at me. He thought for a moment and finally said, "I don't know...I just know it won't be the end."
I gave him a puzzled look. "What does that mean, Bren?"
"I'll have to go back to LA, but I'll return very soon," he promised. "I'll just need to tell my band (or what's left of it) and make sure I have everything under control. Besides we're not that far apart. I'll come visit you on Fridays and I'll leave on Sundays. One week I'll come and one week you'll come. Deal?" He smiled at me.
"Deal," i smiled back. "Sounds like a plan. I just hope it's not too much of a hassle...I feel bad for making you do this." I looked down at my plate.
"Hey look at me, beautiful. When it's for you, I would be happy to do it and don't think for one second that it's a burden. After all you are my girlfriend...right?" He gave me a huge grin.
My face turned hot. "Yo-your girlfriend? Seriously?"
"Unless you don't want to be then that's cool," he looked up at the ceiling trying not to smile.
"What?! Of course I want to be your girlfriend!" I yelled and laughed.
We both looked at each other and started laughing. We continued eating and had some conversations in between.
