Four Weeks Later...

Day 4, Week 4

It had been four weeks, Jimin had stopped seeing most of the other people in his batch.

He had had almost no progress with whatever he was supposed to be doing there, except for one time a day or so ago when he made a spark or two, and he missed Jiyoung greatly.

Laying in the middle of the small room he had been confined in for hours on end for the last four weeks, Jimin was about to doze off to sleep when the door slid open, startling him.

A tall man dressed in all white, surprise surprise, was standing there. He looked impatient so Jimin sat up, giving him a questioning look.

"Come with me."

Jimin said nothing in response, but picked himself up off the floor, following the man through corridors he didn't even notice were there.

After what seemed like an age of walking, they stopped in front of a door, which, like everything else, was white, and Jimin was told to go in.

Inside the room was surprisingly colourful, there was a dark oak desk in the middle of the room with deep red chairs on either side, the walls were painted are calming minty blue and the walls were adorned with photos, one of them photos being a group of nine people. Jimin felt like he recognised a couple of the people in the photo, but he just couldn't place his finger on who they were.

Sitting in one of the chairs was the man in the white coat from their first day there, signalling for Jimin to sit down and leaning back in the chair, he spoke.

"How have you been doing Jimin?"

Jimin didn't know if he was referring to in general or what he was supposed to be doing, so he tentatively replied,

"I've been good, a bit lonely, but good"

The man across the desk nodded, seeming to think for a bit, before speaking again.

"I'm sure you know why you're here, Jimin.  We've slowly been giving you and your friends powers, all different," he paused, "do you have any idea what your power is supposed to be?"

Jimin was stumped, then thought about what he had been doing in that room for the last four weeks and remembered the stick lying in his room, he decided to take a stab in the dark, and if he was wrong hopefully they'd just pass him off as dumb.

"Fire?"

Obviously he wasn't expecting Jimin to be right because he leaned back and clapped,

"Correct, you have the power of fire."

Jimin waited for him to speak again, having a feeling that the man across the desk wasn't finished talking.
"We noticed you were having troubles with your powers,"

Jimin nodded, showing he was paying attention to what the man was saying.
"So we brought in the last batch's controller of fire, I'm pretty sure you know him."

Jimin looked around in confusion,
"There's no one here though?" Of course, he was right, the only two people in the room were Jimin and The Man, with the latter laughing quietly.

"He's in your room, where you'll be spending the rest of the day until dinner, you seem a bit tired."

The Man waved Jimin away, and he stood up, bowed and then left the room, following who he assumed to be an escort of sorts back to his room.

Opening the door to his room, Jimin didn't expect to see Chanyeol sitting on his bed.

It had been two hours or so, and Chanyeol had left, at first they talked about what had been going on at home, how Jiyoung was and what had happened in school.

Soon the topic had gone to their powers and they mostly talked about any troubles Chanyeol had and how Chanyeol controlled his powers, Jimin had gained some tips and help on progressing.

Jimin was lying on his bed, it was about halfway to dinner from lunchtime and he was bored. He thought about how they had given him and the other members of his batch the powers.

They had been given no injections or anything that would normally be thought to give someone superpowers, but slowly they had all been developing them.

Maybe there was something in the water?

Or maybe in the food?

Or maybe what they had called immunisations weren't actually immunisations?

Jimin didn't really understand how it had worked at all.

Was he stupid for willingly giving himself up to these people, to just get experimented on?

Maybe he was.

But then he remembered Chanyeol and Baekhyun, they hadn't died or gone crazy. They seemed to be perfectly fine, they were exactly as they were before they left.

Although when asked if it was safe, they were more quiet about it, were they hiding something?

Had something gone wrong in their batch?
