"Good morning."
Jungkook's voice broke through the haze of my thoughts, pulling me back to the present moment. I shifted uncomfortably under the weight of his gaze, the events of the previous night still fresh in my mind.
I mustered a weak grunt in response, avoiding his eyes as I attempted to come to terms with the reality of our situation. The sunlight streaming through the window cast long shadows across the room, illuminating the aftermath of our impulsive actions.
I could feel Jungkook's eyes on me, his gaze burning into my skin as if searching for answers. I resisted the urge to meet his stare, the guilt and confusion swirling inside me like a tempest.
"What the fuck just happened, Kook?"
Suddenly, it all sank in.
I remember how it started and how it all ended. I close my eyes in annoyance as I scratch the back of my head, thinking that this is the biggest mistake of my life.
I look up and saw him looking at me with a calm face, like nothing happened at all. How can he do that?
"Wash up and we'll talk." He said before turning his back on me and went out of the door.
We were drunk, but not that drunk. I remembered everything, every fleeting touch, every whispered word. There was no escaping the truth of what had happened between us.
I sighed heavily, running a hand through my hair as I tried to make sense of it all. What had possessed us to act so recklessly? And what did it mean for our friendship?
With a resigned sigh, I pushed the thoughts aside and made my way to the bathroom to wash up. The cool water felt refreshing against my skin, washing away the remnants of the night before.
As I dried myself off and got dressed, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered in the back of my mind. I knew that I couldn't avoid facing Jungkook forever, that we needed to talk about what had happened and where we stood.
"Are you okay? Does your body hurt?" That's the first thing he asked when I sat down at the chair and faced the pancakes he made for me.
"I'm so sore." I said honestly as I looked down at the food. I could see him moving from my peripheral eyes, probably trying to get my eyes lay on him but I resist it. Not after what happened last night! "But that's not what's bother me."
Jungkook's brow furrowed in confusion, his gaze searching mine for answers. "Then what is it?" he pressed, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
"What happened last night, Jungkook?" I blurted out, the words tumbling from my lips before I could stop them. "What does it mean?"
Jungkook's expression softened, his eyes filled with a mixture of apology and longing. "I don't know," he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper. "But I think we need to talk about it."
I nodded, a sense of relief washing over me at his honesty. Despite the uncertainty of the situation, there was a comfort in knowing that we could face it together.
As the weight of our conversation lifted, a newfound sense of clarity settled between us. We sat in comfortable silence for a moment, basking in the warmth of the morning sun filtering through the kitchen window. But beneath the tranquility, a question lingered, waiting to be addressed.
"So, where do we go from here?" Jungkook finally broke the silence, his voice tentative as he broached the subject that had been looming over us since the moment we woke up.
I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the conversation that was sure to follow. "I don't know," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper. "But we can't just go back to how things were before."
Jungkook nodded in agreement, his expression thoughtful. "I know," he said softly. "But what does that mean for us?"
I hesitated, unsure of how to put my thoughts into words. "I think we need to be honest with ourselves," I said finally, my voice tinged with uncertainty. "About what we want, and what we're willing to risk to get it."
Jungkook's brow furrowed in confusion, his gaze searching mine for answers. "Are you saying..." he trailed off, leaving the question hanging between us like a heavy fog.
I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what was to come. "I think we need to talk about the possibility of... friends with benefits," I said, the words tasting foreign on my tongue.
Jungkook's eyes widened in surprise, his expression caught between shock and intrigue. "Friends with benefits? You agreed?" he repeated, as if testing out the words for himself.
I nodded, my heart pounding in my chest as I waited for his response. "Yeah," I said softly. "Obviously, you're open to it so why not? I think this could help our friendship too."
For a moment, Jungkook was silent, his gaze fixed on mine as if searching for any sign of hesitation. But then, slowly, a smile spread across his face, a glimmer of excitement dancing in his eyes.
"I think I'd like that," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "But we need to set some ground rules."
I nodded in agreement, a sense of relief washing over me at his acceptance. "Of course," I said, my voice tinged with gratitude. "What did you have in mind?"
Jungkook leaned forward, his expression serious as he outlined his thoughts. "First and foremost, we need to be honest with each other," he said firmly. "No hiding our feelings, no playing games. If something's bothering us, we need to talk about it."
I nodded in agreement, a sense of determination welling up inside me. "Agreed," I said firmly. "Communication is key."
Jungkook smiled, a sense of relief evident in his eyes. "Secondly, we need to establish boundaries," he continued. "We need to be clear about what we're comfortable with and what we're not. And we need to respect each other's limits."
I nodded in agreement, grateful for his pragmatism. "That makes sense," I said softly. "We don't want things to get messy."
Jungkook's smile widened, a sense of excitement bubbling up inside him. "And finally," he said, his voice tinged with anticipation. "We need to have fun. This is supposed to be enjoyable for both of us, right?"
I couldn't help but laugh at his enthusiasm, a sense of warmth spreading through me at the thought of embarking on this new adventure together. "Definitely," I agreed, a smile playing at the corners of my lips. "We'll make sure of it."
But my smile dropped when we heard a knock. I looked him in confusion, thinking if he invited Taehyung or Jimin over but his expression gave me an answer.
He walked out of the kitchen while I follow him. He opened the door, only to reveal Venice with a confused face. I groaned silently, disliking her presence.
"Jungkook."
