chapter 1;  "we're going to find Puke Hemmings and Harlem Hood."

Our vehicle came to a stop and the three girls in the car with me started to squeal. Except it sounded more like muffled squeaks as my music blocked out most of the noise. I slowly pulled out my earbuds after pausing my music. My eyes peer out the window ahead of me and I see the very large, castle like building. And the too large sign that has the words:

University of Sydney

I sigh, rather upset that the long car ride was over. It was always my favourite part of going places. My friends start rapidly talking about the sleeping arrangements. Since we were fortunate enough to all share one room. The spaces were rather large here so they usually had four to five people a dorm. Instead of making conversation with my friends, I carefully slipped from the car, hoping they wouldn't notice. But luck was never on my side.

"Logan! Where are you going? We have to sign in together!" Martha called to me from her seat in the back. I look at her and nod, sighing along with it. I opened the trunk and grab my few suitcases. Then I step to the side and wait for the other three to grab their things. But might I add, these three take forever to do anything while together. I mean it, one time they took literally half an hour in Starbucks while ordering just to get the exact same thing.

I love them, I do. But they can be real pains.

"I can't believe we're here already. It took us for-fucking-ever." Katie now put in after climbing from her seat beside Martha. I had to agree. We came here from Hobart. So it took us nearly fifteen hours just to get here. I nod to her and turn to help her grab her large amount of suitcases. This child has too many clothes.

"True." Athena now said as she turned the car off. "But, it wasn't a bad drive. It might be my favourite part of these whole four years I'm stuck here." She continued, taking out a cigarette. I roll my eyes and subtly take it from her.

"You're going to kill yourself with this." I wave it around in her face. "And I don't want you dying anytime soon." I laugh lightly so the situation didn't seem as intense as it was. Athena only rolled her eyes but smiled along with it. Then she went over to grab her one bag. After she closed the trunk, we all started towards the front lobby of the large building. We took up the entire sidewalk, linking arms.

As soon as we entered, the entire room looked towards us. I immediately felt like I was in one of those cliché Nicholas Sparks movies they always play on TV. But as soon as they looked, they turned away. It was very odd but I decided to ignore it. Martha didn't seem fazed as she pulled us all towards the door that led to the office. I looked over to see Katie wide-eyed, assuming she was shaken up about the few seconds all attention was on us. I lightly punched her shoulder and mouthed an "Are you okay?" towards her. Katie only nodded, but it didn't convince me.

The door to the office opened suddenly and a man in a gray suit came out. He was who I assumed to be the headmaster, or the principal if you will. He seemed very put together, maybe late forties. But we all smiled towards him and mentioned we were the seemingly only four students from Hobart. After a few seconds he finally recognized Martha's voice and welcomed us inside his office.

It was gorgeous in there. The ceiling held broad paintings and crown molding. The walls were a washed white colour, and the trim was a light gray. Now this really made me believe it used to be a castle in the 1500's. I looked over and the other three seemed just as amazed as I was. But eventually we all took a seat on the couch across the room from his large mahogany desk.

"So you are Katie Smith, Logan Davis, Martha Steward, and Athena Arden. Correct?" He asks, without even looking up once. We simultaneously say "yes sir" to him. A few moments of silence goes by. A sudden sigh came from him, causing me to jump a little. Athena gently punches my shoulder in a mocking sort of way. I roll my eyes towards her. "Okay, well it seems there was a mix up in the software. And you four will no longer share a dorm."

"Can't you just fix it? Like let us stay together any way?" Katie speaks up, clearly annoyed with the whole situation. The Dean shook his head and Kat let out a groan of irritation. "Well who all are we staying with then?"

"Well, Athena and Martha will be sharing a room with two other boys. And yes, we do allow males to bunk with females." He replied, laughing a bit to himself at the extra remark he made. None of us replied with even the smallest hint of a laugh. The Dean straightened his position and flipped through some papers. "And now Logan and Katie will be sharing with the other two boys from the group that was split up as well. All four boys I've mentioned had the same problem with their dorm arrangements like you did." The four of us nod.

"What are the boys name's?" I now decide to ask, since no one else wanted to.

"Martha and Athena are sharing with... Michael Clifford and Ashton Irwin. Now Logan and Katie are sharing with their other two friends named Luke Hemmings and Calum Hood."

"Will this be permanent? Or will we be able to switch after Christmas?" I ask again. The Dean, who's name tag read Dr. Shawl, gave me a worried glance before going back through his paper. He typed for a few on his computer, but eventually sat back as he must have found his answer.

"Unfortunately you can't switch roommates until the next school year. Due to many kids graduating and coming in, we can rearrange it then. But not before, no." Another groan left Katie's lips at the answer we received.

"So we're spending ten months with these boys?" Martha spoke up, leaning forward as if it would help our situation.

"Yes, it seems that way. But maybe you won't have classes with them. That I can't check, so don't ask." Dr. Shawl threw his hands up in surrender.

"Well, thank you. We'll have our keys now." Athena stood up and held her hand out, waiting for the Dean to hand them over. He nods and turns around to a large filing cabinet. How did I not notice that? But he soon spins back to his previous position and has four pairs of keys in his hands. He lays them across the wood of his desk. Athena smiles and takes up the one that has the room number 753. I follow her lead and grab the other pair with the number 757.

"At least we'll all be near each other." I say, sighing. They all reply with a very dull "yeah." After we all grabbed what we brought in, we thanked Dr. Shawl and left his office.

"Okay Logan, we're going to find Puke Hemmings and Harlem Hood." Katie grabbed my arm and started leading me away from Athena and Martha. I look back and Martha starts dragging Athena across the room, but the opposite direction.

"Kat, it's Luke and Calum."

Well, chapter one is done.

How did I do? Shitty? Ugh I know

But in all honesty I'm actually really happy with the out come of this chapter. It took me a while, I wanted it to be perfect.
