Database Entry 03: Nightmare

Name: Nightmare

Species: Wolf

Age: Around 4 years - Fully mature for a feral canine.

Height: 8-16ft dependent on the roleplay. (Generally towards the higher end)

Speech type: Verbal with the ability to use telepathy when required.

Colours: His fur is completely black, making him rather hard to see at night other than his eerie blood red eyes that seem to glow very slightly.
If enraged enough strange swirly markings will begin to glow a light blue around his neck.

Details: This abnormally large wolf stands tall above most if not all other wolves, more akin to a direwolf than a normal one, he's surprisingly calm and collected most of the time, rarely getting agitated, though when he does he tends to get rather hostile. It's unclear just how dangerous he can be but he seems the sort to be protective of those close to him, likely due to past losses.

He can speak through both telepathy and actual speech, having a higher IQ than many canines, both understanding and learning the languages of many other species. He's able to be surprisingly quiet for his size if he desires it, his fur tending to be good for camouflage, though if he's agitated, his eyes can give him away as they tend to glow faintly if angered.

Backstory: Nightmare is an alpha of a wolf pack, or at least he was, these days he travels alone as his pack was wiped out in a huge territory battle between three packs, to which he was the only survivor.

As a youngster it quickly became obvious that he was abnormal, growing far faster than his packmates. Due to this, the pack had been monitored and eventually he was kidnapped, stolen from his pack for experimentation. During his time under captivity, they experimented plenty on him, learning about him and finding out what he could do and what they could make him do.

Though all their excessive and painful testing, they awoke powers within him, namely the ability to summon and control fire when under threat, something that proved helpful in his escape of the facility.
Aside from awakening his ability to use fire, he also learned to speak the human tongue due to his heightened IQ, also learning how to speak telepathically in case it became required.

Eventually he broke free of the shackles of the facility and returned to the wild, finding his old pack had moved on and leaving him all alone, he didn't know what to do so started to search, looking for other wolves, over the following two years he slowly found outcast and weak wolves, taking them under his wing and helping them get stronger, all this ended up leading to the huge territory war spoken of prior, wiping out all he'd worked so hard to build, leaving him all alone once again. Now an ex alpha, he simply wanders the forests without much of a goal, simply trying to stay alive and avoid poachers and those who'd want to capture him for further experimentation.
