Chapter ten : Maggie My Friend

A couple of hours after Kylo and General Hux had left Rey the cell door open. Maggie walks in with a tray and sits it down. "Maggie!" Rey was very excited to see her and gets up to hug her. "Rey. Are you okay?" Rey begins to cry again. Maggie hugs her tight. "I am so sorry Rey. I brought you some food and water." Rey pulls away and wipes her tears. "Thank you Maggie, But I don't think I will be eating." Maggie gets worried, "Rey you have to eat. You need strength and if you don't he will.." Rey cuts her off, "Let him hurt me. I don't care anymore. He already has hurt me." Maggie sighs, "You don't mean that Rey. You don't want to be hurt. You want to come out of this alive." Rey looks at Maggie and questions her. "I don't mean to get personal Maggie, but why are you here working for them?" Maggie takes a set and Rey joins her. "They invaded my village. I told them I could cook for exchange in keeping my life. Me and other women were taken. We all work on the bases and cook for them. They are nice to us enough and let us live if we shut up and cook." Rey put her hand on Maggie's. "I am so sorry Maggie. Look. I promise you that when the resistance wins, I will come for you." Maggie smiles, " Oh Rey. Don't worry about me. I will be okay. Listen. I can bring you a little extra food and water if you would like. I don't mind slipping some in here." Rey nods and smiles. "I think I should get back to work Rey, but I will be back later. I will also bring you a couple of books. We can change them out every so often when you get done with them," Maggie says as she goes to leave. Rey stops her, "Maggie. I am really glad I met you... and that I get to call you a friend." Maggie smiles and leaves. Rey starts to eat her food. She wanted to stay true to her mission, but there was no use in her starving. Rey set and stared at the walls. She wished there was a window. Even if it was the smallest. She wanted something to look at other than the walls. After she finished her food and drank about half of her water, she decided to take a nap. There wasn't much else to do and she knew if she stared at the walls any longer she would go insane. Later that night the cell door opened and Rey jumped not knowning who was coming in. "Oh Maggie it's just you." "I brought your books and some extra food and water. I hope you don't mind , but I picked out two of my favorite books I thought you would enjoy, "Maggie smiled as she spoke. Rey took them eagerly. "Thank you Maggie." "I'm sorry I can't stay longer Rey, but I have to get back to work. I will see you tomorrow. I have a small amount of free time in the morning so I will come eat breakfast with you." Maggie hugged Rey and left the cell. Rey began to est as she opened a book. Not long after the cell door opened again. It was him. Kylo Ren. Rey stood up and backed into a corner. Behind him was General Hux. "What is this I see here? Extra food and water? Book," Kylo questioned. Rey slowly spoke," Please. Maggie is my friend. She was just trying to be nice." Kylo rose an eyebrow and spoke, " I knew you two would become friends the day you met her." "Do you want me to take care of her," Hux quickly asked.
