I've known Rain for years. I️ will never forget the day I️ met her...

It was kindergarten. She had just fallen off the monkey bars and cut her knee in the process. Oh, those stupid little painful wood chips.

I️ asked her if she was okay and she just smiled back at me. Like nothing even happened. I️ helped her up and we went to the nurse. The kind nurse put a band-aid on her knee and told her to be careful next time.

After that little incident, Rain and I's friendship grew. Our parents would soon call us "The Inseparable".

Until one day.....

Present Day:

Rain's POV

"You're what?" I️ said trying to hold back my tears.

"I'm so sorry Rainbow, but I have to" You could see the pain in his eyes "they're waiting for me".

"Please don't leave me" I couldn't hold it in anymore. I was a full-blown mess.

"I'll call you, every day. If I can't call, I'll text. If I can't text, I'll write"

"Promise?"

"I️ promise you Rainbow, I'll never forget you"

He kissed the top of my head and grabbed his bags from my doorstep.

I️ looked into his blue eyes one last time. His blue ones connected with my brown ones. With that, he turned around and walked to the car.

Soon enough the car pulled out of the driveway and little did I️ know, that would be the last time I️ would hear from my blue-eyed best friend...
