The last day

A/n: I guess this is how your supposed to do this?? Anyway babies have fingernails, isn't that weird???

*alright so you are now Eridan Ampora and this is the last day of fifth grade for you...this is a big deal*

Eridan's P.O.V.

Eridan was almost shaking looking at Fef on their way to school that day. It was really the last day, for both of them. After that there was no more of them talking and walking to school everyday together. There was no more storage closet they sometimes hid in when they really didn't wanna go to school that day. There was no more having an excuse to hang out by telling their parents that there was something at the school they wanted to go to. What if they weren't in the same classes next year? Or the same school? He was so scared, and they weren't even talking on the way there, it was so silent it was driving him nuts.

"Fef?" He turned to her, hoping to make some sort of conversation. He got no response "Fef?" He said a little louder. ") (u)(?" She quickly turned to him, seeming that she just broke out of deep thought. He looked at her, confused "You alright? You seem a little lost today, is somfin wwrong?" He asked with genuine concern.

"O) ( ya) (... I'm fin" she said. But she wasn't fine, she didn't have her usual happy attitude, or bright smile, or childlike playfulness. There was something wrong, and Eridan WOULD get to the bottom of it.

"Wwhat's wwrong Fef, come on, remember" he said as he lifted up her chin "you can tell me anyfin" he said looking at her with a mock seriousness.

It made her giggle a little, and the smile he knew so well came back a little. This of course encouraged him. "Oh Bella" he said playfully. "Run awway with me!" He said grabbing her hand and skipping in slow motion. This made her laugh. "T) (at's not even CLOS--E to t) (e plot of t) (e story! " she said rolling her eyes.

"O) ( ) (arry, let's go kill Voldymort... WIT) ( LOVE" she said using a fake actress voice. He laughed, "Talk about gettin' the plot wwrong" he said, rolling his eyes in return. They both laughed, "Reely tho, are you ok?" He said one last time as they were in front of the school. "Ya) (... I'm fine" she said blankly before running into the school without him. He knew there was obviously something she was hiding, but there wasn't really anything he could do about it then.

In lunch was the next time he saw her... even at the last day of school, they really didn't do anything special. He ran up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder. She jumped. "O) (, ) (ay Eri!" She seemed peppier than that morning, but was still acting different.

"Wwell hello miss. Runs off outta nowwhere!" He said to her with a teasing smile. "O) ( ya) (... I'm sorry about t) (at. I'm just a little nervous. You know, last day of sc) (ool and all" she said. She was lying, that wasn't the problem at all, he could clearly tell.

"You shore that's it?" He asked hoping she'd tell him what's really wrong.

"Ya) (" she said going to sit at their usual table where they always sit.

They didn't really talk that much while eating that day, a little about summer plans, which fef for some reason seemed really discrete about. He was worried about her for the rest of the day. There was one other thing he wanted to do before the end of the day too.

He needed to tell her something he had never quite admitted to himself. He thought he might be in love with her. At first he thought that was crazy. He thought they were like brother and sister or just two best friends that could never be torn apart. But thinking about them going to different schools and of him not seeing her anymore made him wanna cry inside, and every time he thought about another girl he never felt quite the same as he did thinking about her. She was like the light of his life, and he thought he'd have to tell her that, and that day was the perfect time to do it.

So... just as the bell had rang that day he ran up to her a little more exited than usual and hugged her from behind. She jumped, then turned and greeted him with a small smile and a giggling, "Well ) (i!"

"Hello Fef" he said to her with a bright smile, he had been thinking about telling her this all that day, rethinking how quite to say it. He was so nervous that he was just giddy and glad to finally see her.

"Listen I got somefin I need to tell you, it's reely important" he said, still shaking as they were walking back to their houses. "Listen... w) (ale... I kinda ) (ave somefin' important to say to you too" she said, seeming a little sad, which was so unusual for Feferi.

"Wwell I don't knoww wwhich one of us should go first" he said, a little concerned but still jumpy. "I'll tell you wwhat... let's say em' at the same time" he said, grabbing her hands as they stopped walking for just a little while.The both breathed heavily and suddenly something so awful happened he could barely remember much of anything the same way since. It was like it was in slow motion... like if it happened too quickly it would cause the sky to fall down on both their heads... suddenly...

All that was heard at the same time was

"I'm in lovve wwith you"

"I'm moving"

...

"WWHAT?"

"W) (AT?"

"You're in love wit) ( me?"

"You're movvin'?"

They were both in a state if shock, tears running down both their eyes.

"I'm sorry, my mom doesn't wanna be ) (ere anymore... I'm going to New York... I didn't know ) (ow to tell you" she said. Then they just both held eachother and cried the whole way back...
