Chapter 49

(A/n sorry for not updating in a while! Been busy with school etc :/)

Lizzie's Dad= The house is an absolute tip! Where have you been all this time? Couldn't you be bothered to clean??

L= Dad, it's more like, where YOU been?? I'll tell you where I'VE been. I was on the news for *dying* in a waterfall which I did but I was brought back to life by Joel, who's here. I was also beaten up by two men and had to stay on hospital for months. WHERE WERE YOU ALL THAT TIME?

Lizzie's Dad= Lizzie, I had stuff to sort out and -

L= You said you'd be 5 MONTHS! It's been a LOT longer than that?

Lizzie's Dad= Well why didn't you keep the house in order?

L= Because I moved in with my boyfriend. Joel.

Lizzie's Dad= Uh no, I'm not allowing my 16 year old to have a boyfriend. And how old is he?

L= 17.

Lizzie's Dad= Older than you!

L= My birthday's soon!

Lizzie's Dad= I don't care! Now come with me, you're cleaning the whole house!

J= Mr um... Well uh I don't think it's Lizzie's fault!

Lizzie's Dad= Of course it is! And it's yours! Now move along, we have cleaning to do! (grabs Lizzie's wrist)

L= (snatches wrist away which leaves mark) No! I'm living with Joel!

Lizzie's Dad= You are most definitely not! (Joel takes Lizzie's hand and holds the house key in his other)

L= I am!

Lizzie's Dad= (grits teeth and about to snatch her hand again)

J= (runs with Lizzie and unlocks door, rushes in , closes it and locks it again)

Lizzie's Dad= You've made it harder for yourself Lizzie! (Walks back to house)

Lizzie and Joel take a breather and look at each other with their hearts pounding.

L= (sniggers)

J= (laughs)

L= Do you think he's gonna try and harm me again?

J= I don't know. But we need to report him for abuse!

L= If we do, he'll go to jail, and if he goes to jail, I'll have to go to a foster home, or live with my mum which is highly unlikely.

J= Can't you live with me?

L= Well it's not very legal until your 18 which is a year from now (sad face)

J= Well we'll try and survive a year then!

They sigh and hug tightly, which leads to a kiss.

J= So-

Lizzie's phone beeps

Lizzie looks at the message from Lauren:

Lau= Lizzie. Did u stay over at my house with Joel and DO IT in the spare bed?? Well I'm grounded because of the house and for THAT. I found a strand of pink hair, a colour FAMILIAR to urs! If it was u, then thanks a lot, my phone is being confiscated for a month. Goodbye b*tch, if it was u.

Then Joel receives a text:

Lau= Joel. Did u stay over at my house and DO IT with Lizzie in the spare bed?? Well I'm grounded because of the house and because of THAT. I found a strand of pink hair, Lizzie's colour. If it was u guys, then I'm not forgiving u, I can't believe it! I expected better of u! Goodbye d**k, if it was u.

Lizzie and Joel read each others text.

L= I guess we didn't cover any evidence enough...

J= She might tell the whole school! She better not!

L= If Tia finds out...

J= Then we're toast.

L= Joel, I'm scare-

Suddenly, Lizzie gets interrupted by a massive bang at the front door. They both poke their heads round the wall to see a big figure, standing at the door.

L= It's my dad...
