All week Hilda and N had been texting back and forth. Every night N sent her a goodnight text, and every morning he sent her a good morning text.
Thursday came, and Hilda and Bianca were watching a movie at Bianca's house.
"Ooo it's getting pretty serious, huh?" Bianca teased, scrolling through the texts Hilda and N had sent.
Hilda blushed, "No! We're just texting. Who knows if our date tomorrow will even go well?"
Bianca rolled her eyes, "I'm sure it'll go well!" She chirped, tossing Hilda her phone back, "Can I speak at your wedding?"
"Bianca!"
"Well I'm of course going to be your maid of honor, so I guess I'll be speaking anyway."
"There's no wedding! I hardly know the guy!"
"There's no wedding yet"
Hilda hugged her knees to her chest, sighing in frustration. Her eyes drifted to the window, and her anger faded into concern.
"How do you think Cheren is doing?" She asked.
Bianca winced, "I don't know. He'd better not be off imprinting and mating with some wolf bitch..." She grumbled.
Hilda rolled her eyes, "I'm sure he's not." She said, glancing down at her phone.
Every full moon, Cheren's wolf form took control. When they were kids, he used to lock himself in his room, but now he just runs into the wild with the other werewolves in town. As far as Hilda knew, there were only five others, all omegas, but Cheren smelling that other alpha at the amusement park could mean trouble. If Cheren were to run into this alpha, they would fight for territory, and Cheren would either win and kick out the new alpha, or he would lose and get kicked out of town.
"I think what we really should be worried about is this other alpha." Hilda said, tearing her eyes from her phone.
"You think?" Bianca asked.
"If they fight and this guy wins, Cheren could have to leave town, right?"
Bianca's wings turned green, a sign that she was nervous, "You're right! What if he has to leave town? What if we never see him again?! What if-"
Bianca was cut off by the sound of scratching at the door.
Bianca and Hilda stared at the door.
"Well it's your house!" Hilda exclaimed.
Bianca nervously went to open her door and was greeted by a blue wolf with a dead cat in its mouth.
The wolf placed the cat at Bianca's feet, wagging its tail.
"Cheren! Why did you kill this cat?!" Bianca shrieked, "...Is this your neighbor's cat?"
Cheren sat on his haunches and wagged his tail.
"That cat deserved it!" Hilda added, "Thing was nasty!"
Bianca let out a shaky breath. Cheren whined and titled his head.
"Why did you do this?" Bianca asked.
