"Stop trying to turn that apple into an orange, it's not gonna work." Hugh mumbled, watching his girlfriend attempt the spell.

"You don't know that." Rosa spat.

"Don't listen to him," Hilda encouraged, "He's just grumpy because he's hungry."

Hugh threw his hands up, "Do you have any idea how much blood you have? Stop being selfish!"

Hilda rolled her eyes and ruffled Hugh's hair, much to his annoyance.

"So Cherry," Hilda chimed, getting the attention of the boy at the opposite end of the table, "How's the hunt going?"

Cheren grunted, "This guy's scent is everywhere! I can't do anything without smelling him."

"Do you smell him now?" Bianca asked.

"Well, no..." Cheren admitted.

"Why can't you two just get along?" Rosa asked, successfully turning the apple into an orange. Rosa smugly shoved the orange in Hugh's face.

"Because..." Cheren growled.

"Because...?"

"Because he thinks he's so great! Ugh he thinks he's so strong and...tall!"

"Is this about you not being able to grow a few extra feet?" Hilda asked.

"No!" Cheren denied, an embarrassed blush flooding his cheeks, "It's just...I've been the alpha of this town for years! And he thinks he can move here so suddenly and...and take it over?!"

"And," Cheren added, "the omega females were all over him! It was...actually pretty gross." Cheren chuckled, "Ahh they're so desperate it's hilarious."

The full moon was nearly a month ago, the next one slowly approaching. Cheren was getting a little anxious and jumpy.

Hilda yawned and looked at her phone clock;

11:30 pm

N had sent his goodnight text a few hours ago, leaving Hilda to engage in Cheren's anxiety, Rosa's weird transformation spells, and Hugh's hunger. Bianca was the only one who wasn't annoying her.

"What did this guy look like?" Bianca asked.

Cheren shrugged, "A giant wolf..." he grumbled.

Bianca rolled her eyes, "No, stupid!" She exclaimed, "I mean what color was he? What color were his eyes? If we can get that information, we can narrow it down."

Cheren's face contorted in thought, "Uhh I think he was green?"

Hilda stiffened. Green?

"You think?" Rosa asked.

"It was dark!" Cheren argued, "His eyes were green too, I think."

Color drained from Hilda's face. It couldn't be N...could it?

It made sense; his poor excuse for where he was on the night of the full moon, Catherine, an omega female, following him around all night, Cheren saying the alpha had suddenly moved here, and even the day Hilda met N- at the amusement park where Cheren smelled him.
