Hilda giggled.

N raised an eyebrow at the girl, "What?" He asked.

"You have frosting on your nose." She laughed.

N's eyes crossed as he attempted to look at his nose. He wiped the frosting off with his sleeve after a failed attempt to to reach it with his tongue.

Hilda giggled at N's behavior. His actions were purely child-like, much like his personality seemed to be.

When N suggested that he and Hilda go out again, she decided to bring him to her grandmother's bakery. Turns out, N was a big fan of cupcakes.

It was after hours, and Hilda's grandmother had asked her to close for her. That left Hilda and N to eat anything that hadn't been sold that day. N was taking full advantage of that luxury. He'd already cleared all the vanilla cupcakes.

"You're gonna get a stomach ache." Hilda chuckled.

"You should have more faith in me, Hilda." N said, "I once ate a whole cake by myself, without getting sick."

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah."

N suddenly looked out the window. His face went pale and he hid behind the counter.

Hilda looked out the window, confused, but then the door swung open, and a girl walked in.

Hilda groaned, "I'm sorry Catherine, we have a no dog policy here." She hissed.

Catherine crossed her arms, "You let Cheren in here."

"Did I say dog? I meant bitch."

Catherine laughed with no humor, "You're very funny, Hilda. I'm looking for N."

Hilda blinked in surprise, "N?"

"Yeah. I saw him through the window. Where is he?"

Hilda thought of N's reaction; hiding behind the counter.

"I think you may be delusional. There's no one named 'N' here."

Catherine narrowed her eyes, "Oh there isn't?" She smirked and begun twirling her long pink hair, "Well if you ever do see him, tell him I had fun last Thursday."

Jealously surged through Hilda's veins. Is that why he didn't answer her texts last Thursday?

"Bye Hilda! Tell that flea infested friend of yours that I hope he gets run out of town!" Catherine hissed, exiting the building. Hilda went over and locked the door.

"She must have an odd definition of 'fun'." N said, leaving his hiding spot.

"You know her?" Hilda asked, her tone sharp.

"Unfortunately..." N groaned, "She just cannot seem to leave me alone."

Hilda crossed her arms and averted her eyes, "Oh."

"You are familiar with her as well?"

"She used to date my friend Cheren, but she dumped him when he wouldn't...'put out'."

A lie. Well, sort of. She dumped him because he wouldn't kiss her.

"Oh."

"So what kind of fun was she talking about?" Hilda asked, anger seeping into her voice.

"What? Nothing. She followed me around town all night." N said, sounding somewhat unsure.

"You were in town all night?" Hilda asked suspiciously.

N nodded.

Hilda recalled N's bandaged hand. It wasn't bandaged anymore, but he'd said he'd burnt it cooking on Thursday. He was clearly lying to her, or at the very least hiding something.

Hilda decided to give him the benefit of the doubt, "Oh...Okay."

It must've sounded like she still didn't believe him, because he sighed, walked over, and took Hilda's hands.

"Hilda, believe me when I say that she means nothing to me. She is quite annoying, actually. But you! You make me feel so..." N blushed, "Normal."

Hilda's cheeks turned pink as she giggled, "That's a good thing?"

N nodded, "It is. It really is." He sighed, pushing their foreheads together.

Hilda's face felt like an oven. It grew warmer when N rubbed their noses together.

Hilda pusher him away playfully, fearing she may melt if he got any closer.

"I'm gonna clean up. I think you've had enough sugar for tonight." She teased, walking behind the counter and taking everything out from the display.

"Not quite enough..." N whispered.

Hilda's head shot up, "Huh?" She asked, not hearing him.

N's face turned a crimson color, "N-Nothing! D-Do you want some help?"
