Chapter 14

Gunner's P.O.V.

(The morning after Hadlee left.)

I was pissed. Who fucking leaves their mate? Who the fuck leaves after you convince the pack they will have a great Luna.

Now all these annoying kids running around the damn pack like chickens with their heads cut off.

One little girl with black hair had the audacity to ring the doorbell and ask for 'Miss Hadlee'.  The hell am I supposed to do!

My mate ran off with that pussy ass bitch of a warrior. That bitch is gonna pay. Who takes someone's mate in the middle of the fucking night!

The whore call him to come pick her up. Like I give a shit if she's here or not.

IM GLAD SHES GONE!!

She got me so agitated it was like a pesky nat. Just always around.

Ugh!!! At least I don't have to deal with that bitch.

Jake's P.O.V.

(A week and a half with Hadlee.)

Lee hasn't been the same as the day after she got here. I think she's feeling the mate pull.

Every day she's just got a little more sad and talked less. Now she just kinda sat down and did nothing all day. I would make her food but she wouldn't eat it. Hadlee just kinda stopped being her. And it really made me sad.

Her father has asked more questions about her. I think he knows that she's with me but just never said anything.

Today I wasn't coming home empty handed. I also wasn't going to have Lee mope around anymore. It hurt to see her like this and not her funny, witty self.

Paying attention to Hadlee since we were in high school was finally gonna pay off.

I walked down to the pizza place in town and order a salad and two calzones. One with BBQ chicken and one original.

This was Lee's favorite place to eat. Her biggest problem with eating here was that she really liked both BBQ and original and could never decide. So I wouldn't make her.

While I was waiting for that I was thinking about what else would really get her spark back. Then it dinged.

I always had a think for Hadlee. I never just saw that she was pretty. I thought she was beautiful, smart, strong, and funny. We really started to hang out in high school and that when I got to know her and a lot about her. Like her favorite flower.

She showed me what it was and where it grows. We made up a name for it and she said that would always be her favorite flower. She also said I could never tell anyone about it or show anyone. It would always stay between us.

I picked up the order and walked out. Striding quickly to the house I opened the door and put the food in the kitchen. Hadlee was laying on the living room couch asleep.

I picked her up off the couch and brought her to the bedroom. I softly shook her to make her up. She yawned peeping and eye open. I smiled at her cute action as she then rubbed her eyes.

"Lee, I have a surprise for you. I'll pick out some clothes and I want you to change into them. Okay?" I asked as she stared at me blankly.

"Mhm." She nodded as her eyes follow me in the closet.

It was starting to get cold outside so I grabbed jeans and a white v-neck. Pulling the army green color jacket I smiled and placed them on the bed.
