"Rise and shine!," I heard my aunt Juliet chirped.
"No, please just 5 more hours," I mumbled.
"No! Time to get up. Your uncle and brothers are waiting for you to eat breakfast. Well, more like lunch."
"What time is?" I asked.
"It's 12:15," she replied. "Now, get your lazy butt off the bed and come downstairs. Your brothers have been waiting for you to come and eat," she said taking off my covers and pulling me by the legs.
"You know Jett and Skyler wait for no one. They probably ate my share by now," I said gripping tightly onto my bed sheets.
"I meant Blue and Caden," she said as I let go and sat up.
"What? Why?" I was very surprised to hear that.
"Because, they want to spend more time with you of course," she said as she sat next to me.
"I thought last night was an exception being my birthday and all."
"Oh, honey. You're their baby sister of course they will want to spend time with you. I know it has been difficult for you as it has been for them. Maybe, after last nights talk they finally realized they were in the wrong by pushing you away. They are probably going to try and win you back. You know when I called them, and asked them if they see you or if they knew where you were they were really concerned. Just like your father," she explained. "They even asked if it was okay for them to wait for you at home and celebrate your birthday with you," she added.
"For reals?" I tilt my head and raised an eyebrow. "I thought you have forced them to come." She laughed. She knew that I didn't like to make a big deal out of my birthday after my mom passed away, but she insisted to at least cake and presents at their house.
"Yes, 'for reals' Caden was the one that called Shawn and told him where you might be. He had called Franklin and ask if he had seen you. He said you wanted to visit your mother, and right away he called your uncle to tell him where you might still be," she said and then proceed to smacked me on the shoulder.
"Ouch! That hurts! Why would you do that?" I rubbed the side of my arm.
"That's for last night young lady." She has a strong hand. "Next time I won't be so easy. Since you have never done this before I'm letting it slide." She stood up and kisses the top of my head. "Now, hurry up. The guys are probably getting impatient."
"Okay, thanks tía. And again I'm really, really sorry. I will try and not let it happened again." I was on my feet and grabbed her hand. "Do you think the guys will forgive me about last night?" Even though they weren't mad at me, Uncle Shawn, Skyler, and Jett still had a look on their faces that said I won't be getting out of the house anytime soon. Although, this was the first time his has ever happen. She cackled out loud. "What?" I said startled by her laughter.
"Oh, I think they did. It's just your uncle Shawn is trying to control himself and is trying really hard not to buy you one of those new cute leash backpack for kids," she kept laughing. You know how I said that Skyler become extremely protective of me. Well, I forgot to mention my uncle Shawn and Jett were too. "You should have seen him. Last night when we went to bed he was trying not to go to a kid store and buy you one." She told me as we walked down the hallway and down the stairs. Like I've said before this has never happened. I usually let them know where I am 24/7. And I hardly went out anyways. Not that I needed to go anywhere, but now that I was 15 I intended to explore the city on my own a little bit more since I've mostly spend my time indoors. I quickly washed my self up and finally made it to the dining room area and to my surprise Jett and Skyler haven't started eating yet. They usually eat without waiting for me.
"Good morning!" I called out to everyone.
"Morning," they replied.
"About time chibi," Jett groan.
"What....you know how much I love sleep," I said taking a sit next to Skyler. My uncle Shawn sat at the head of the table. My aunt Juliet sat in one side of him and I sat in the other. Jett was sitting next to Skyler and my brothers were sitting next to our aunt. Food was on the table and as soon as we sat down Jett reached for the eggs.
"Yeah, well there is a thing called common courtesy. You know, to wait for all members of the family to be seated and eat together," he said sarcastically reaching for the bacon this time.
"Oh yeah! Well, who are you? And what have you done to my Jetty?"
"Please! I have always been considerate and you know it," he said as he took a bite of his bacon.
"Say's the boy who sneaks into my room and slowly pulls off my covers while making sounds like the grudge. I couldn't sleep for days. Thanks! Jett, thanks a lot." I shuddered from the memory.
"Is that why I found you on my bed that time?" Skyler said with a smile on his face. I turned to him and nodded with a frown on my face. Skyler turned to Jett and smacked him on the back of the head again. It was a habit of his to hit him every time he found out he did something to me.
"Shut up and eat!," Jett said and focused on this food.
"Yay! Chocolate chip pancakes," I said reaching for them and putting four on my plate and stuffing one into my mouth. "Yummy! these are delicious," I said with food in my mouth.
"Adream!," my aunt Juliet yelled "don't talk with food in your mouth. It's not proper thing to do while we are eating," she scolded. I washed down the pancakes with some milk.
"Sorry, tía, but these are really good," I said taking a proper bite this time.
"Then thank your brothers Blue and Caden," she said as I chocked on the food. Skyler and Uncle Shawn patted my back and handed me my cup of milk. "Yes, they wanted to help out and make your favorite morning pancakes," she said with a grin on her face.
"Oh...thanks," I said shyly looking down at my plate.
"You're welcome," I heard them say.
We continued eating and I was glad to see Jett and Skyler getting along with Blue and Caden again. We were a very close knitted family, but Blue and Caden were the ones to drift apart from us. My aunt, uncle, Jett and Skyler were the only family that live in same town as us. I was glad to have my aunt and uncle's home was right across from my house. I just have to cross the street and BAM! 30 seconds later I'm there. We were constantly in each other's homes.
Skyler is three years older than me. Caden is two, Blue is one and Jett was 5 months older. Since all 5 of us were close to the same age we did everything together. Well, it was more like me crying after them to let me join them. I didn't want to play with anyone else but them. I was attached to them for some odd reason. My parents would set up play dates with other kids, well other girls my age to play with, but they were to girly for my taste. All they wanted to do was play with dolls and play house. When we would play we somehow end up in mud or dirt and the girls would leave home crying. So my parents let me be and let me hang out with the boys. Naturally, they would complained saying I would end up crying, and I did...occasionally.
I wasn't as fast or as strong, but they would let me join them every now and then. It wasn't fair just cause I was a girl they treated me differently. I was about five when my peculiar attachment to them started. I couldn't help it. I looked up to them too much. I thought they were these cool group of kids others wanted to play with and couldn't, but I was. They wouldn't just let anyone hang around with them in or out of school. They were very picky when it came to picking friends.
Over the years they managed to teach me every sport they knew. By the time I was eleven I was skilled on every sport they had taught me. I wasn't an expert, but I was better than most boys. My favorites were hockey and football. Obviously, I was never got tackle. My dad made sure of that. But what were some scars and bruises. We were made from the same molecules. They protected me too much while growing up. I guess all the Halliwell men. It got a little frustrating sometimes.
My brother's relationships' eventually fell apart after our mom died. My brothers, Blue and Caden, started acting differently around me, and my cousins noticed this behavior. At first my cousins would tell me my brothers needed time and needed to be alone, and that it would be the guys just for a while. I didn't bother to argue since I knew they were hurting more than I was. I had the opportunity to spend the day with her before she passed away. That is probably one of the reason I think they hate me. I was able to hold her hand one more time and tell her how much I love her. I tried talking with them. I wanted to know how they felt even though I knew how they did, but I still wanted to hear them out. I wanted it to make it work between us, but every time I would bring it up they would yell and storm out. Leaving me standing in the the dark alone.
