I woke up with a poke to my face. My instincts from years ago were still in tact and I sprang from my bed and stood on the floor. My eyes were wide, then I relaxed as I saw it was Dr. Lumena. "Hey, is it okay if we run a few tests today?" I nodded, why had he come into my room? I looked over to see Lillian sound asleep.
"Dr. Philips said that she would be there today, we're just running a couple tests, since you don't want the surgical implant, we're trying to test what happens to find anything new." I nodded, rubbing my eyes. Now I was a test puppet. 4 months is taking too long, it's only been 1 so far. Let the testing begin.
"So, we figured on doing EKG and a stress test today. The EKG will give us a sort of X-Ray to see what's going on. That means you should be done by about four. For the EKG you are gonna have to take off your shirt." When we got to the room, I shakingly took off my shirt to reveal a collection of scars. Dr. Lumena looked up from his papers and made a questioning face, but kept silent. (Since I just got this information of examples, we're just gonna skip past all this, okay?)
After the tests, I sat in the waiting room. Seemingly, my mind drifted. I blinked, and all of a sudden my parents stood before me. I opened my eyes wide and ran off. Back towards where Dr. Lumena had went. My vision started to blur more and more each time a foot hit the floor. Everything was echoing loudly into my ears, and suddenly, I realized what was happening as I stopped and everything twirled in circles until it went black.
"I don't think testing your physical ability was a test today." I opened my eyes with a headache and a bright light suddenly shining into my eyes. "Thirty minutes, for not even a minute of running." I leaned my head down as I felt suddenly drained. I was still only half awake when I looked over to see him staring at me.
I gave him a look he knew. "What's bothering you, son?" He looked concerned, he had even seen some of my childhood before. I gripped a piece of paper and wrote down a small note. Are there any side affects to this? Halluinations especially? He looked at me, "You could have hallucinations from a lot of things..."
I sighed, relaxing into the bed. "Now, you're going to stay there for at least another half hour before you even get up. Understood?" I nodded, leaning my head back. I wanted to draw suddenly, but quickly fell asleep. I was drained majorly and, oddly, had been weary and tired since I even heard I was going to die.
I woke up to find it was already night. Dr. Lumena walked in a few minutes later, "Do you always sleep like that?" I was shocked, I've never slept more than six hours a night. I shook my head at him as he just smiled. "Well, guess you're staying the night." I nodded, I had been unhooked from any machines.
He left a little later, doctors have a lot more than just one patient. Grabbing the covers and pillows from the bed, I walked over to the windowsill and set up a small bed. I realized it was raining, bringing a sad yet small smile to my face. I put my hand on the window, and for just a second, I thought I saw Lilly's fingerprint appear on the other side of the glass.
It was already done before I had the power to stop Lilly. She was a very stubborn and motivated person. We were trying to get the window open when the door broke open. "You remember when I put a lock on the outside of that window?" My mother asked. I looked up to meet her eyes before flinching. She smacked me for it. "I'm sorry..." My mother was staring her deep in the eye. "Sorry? You better be a lot more than that!" She blinked. "Not sorry to you, to Dylan..." My mother simply pulled out a gun to Lilly. "You will be a little more than sorry after we teach you a new lesson." I screamed, but it was too late as suddenly the trigger was pulled.
Tears were falling out of my eyes as I started to hum. Lilly always did that, she would hum her own tune and it would calm me down everytime I heard it. I let myself drift to the sound of my own voice, which sounded deeply rusty, considering I hadn't spoken since I was four. I tapped my fingers to add a beat. I fell asleep with my head against the cold window.
I looked in shock as my sister fell to the ground. It happened so fast... I grabbed her hand and kneeled down. "Lilly! Sissy!" My mom came behind me and, holding me in a way I couldn't fight back, drug me off. "Lilly did a bad thing. That's what happens. So don't do it." She growled. I was crying, reaching and kicking, trying to get to her. "LET ME GO! SAVE HER!" I started screaming and, she put me down. A firm hold on my arm as she spun me around. "Do not tell me what to do." She slapped me once. "Do not yell at me or in this house." She slapped me again, I think I was bleeding now. "And Do not, do not, ever try to get away from me ever again." She punched me this time. I fell to the ground as she lost control and started kicking me. I grabbed her leg. "I don't care, just save her." I had a slight growl to my voice this time, but truthfully I could barely feel anything. She kicked me one last time before locking me in the room and leaving. I lifted my shirt to find my stomach already black and purple.
