{Authors Note: First look at Greysen's POV! Enjoy loves!}
I go upstairs to "my room" after dinner and lay back on the bed, everything in my life is so complicated right now and it shouldn't be that way, I should be focusing on which college to apply to and what I want to do as a job not getting interrogated about my parents murder. Thats what happened my parents were murdered and I walked in on their killer as he was trying to finish the job, i heard my moms last gasp of air and I swear it replays in my head on a never ending cycle. No one should have to deal with that especially not a 17 year old kid.
I'm beyond lucky for what Aris' family has done for me. I never expected anyone else's family to love me as their own and go through the things they're going through for me. Aris has always been my best friend and has been there for me through so much in our friendship, but I never expected anything like this to happen. But I mean, who does? Who expects to wake up having parents one day and going to bed without them still being alive? No one. No person deserves that.
Schools been hard since it started, senior year isn't as great when everyone looks at you like you're a serial killer. I have only three people at school who don't act as if I may pull a gun on them with a look, Aris, Tanden and Jaryd. Tanden has been in the same class with Aris and since probably fourth grade, he's quiet and fits in with us very well, but between video games, reading comics and his computer he never really is available to hangout after school.
And then there's Jaryd, we've know him since sixth grade. He's loud and kind of the instigator of the group. He's the one that comes up with ideas like 'let's break into the school after hours' or 'ever lit an entire tree on fire?' Being around Jaryd means welcoming the trouble, and Aris and I have done that, well she has, but there's one thing about him I'll never come around to like. He's in love with Aris.
She says she doesn't notice, but everyday the first thing he says it's some comment about how nice she looks. She always smiles politely and continues conversation. She thinks he's nice, I've seen how Jaryd treats girls besides her and it's nowhere near nice. But she ignores it, hardly ever engaging in conversation with anyone but me.
Maybe tomorrow I'll tell her she looks nice, maybe I can make her smile a little more. She's got a beautiful smile. With that thought I lay back on my bed and open my kindle. And begin reading a book where happily ever afters exist and where parents don't get murdered.
