Ch. 4

Once everyone got done with breakfast, Candace and I went to go get ready for the day. Candace decided to wear a loose black shirt that hung off her left shoulder, which has a silver skull on it. She wore gray ripped jeans along with her black and white high tops. She put on a silver necklace that had a little ram charm. I decided to wear a loose light green shirt that has "Dream without fear, love without limits" on it. I also wore some black capris with black combat-like boots. I grabbed my favorite skull ring and put it on my ring finger on my left hand to give off the illusion I am taken. Candace let me french-braid her hair. I just left my hair down. "Alright, we're ready to go." I nod as we leave the bedroom. "So what exactly is the camp supposed to be like?" Candace shrugs as we walk downstairs. "Not sure. Alex just said that you and I would love it there. It's a place where kids who don't know or have never met their other parent can finally find out who that parent is. Maybe you could finally meet your dad." I roll my eyes as I cross my arms. "I don't need some man to come into my life claiming to be my father. If he was truly my father he would've been there for me when I needed him most." Candace nods somewhat understanding what I meant. She too was fatherless, but now she has a stepfather. I know what I said sounded selfish, but I didn't believe I needed my father in my life. "Hey, you two. Whatcha talking about?" I look over at Alex and sigh softly. "Nothing important. Let's get going or Mrs. Achlys will have our heads for making us late." Alex nods and walks down the stairs with us following him. We walked outside to the car to head to the museum.

We reached the museum after a long car ride, but everything seemed a bit off. I got out of the car as I looked around at my surroundings. It felt as if I was being watched by someone or something. I kept looking around trying to find out what was watching me. "(Y/n), you okay?" I look at Candace and nod slowly. "Yeah, just got a feeling everything is not as it seems." Alex, who joined us on our trip to the museum, gently grabs my hand and walks me over to a fountain. Candace followed us and smirks slyly. "Is my bestie dating my other bestie?" I roll my eyes as I pull my hand away from Alex. He was unfazed by Candace's teasing. I sit down on the side of the fountain as I look at my surroundings. I watch as a girl that looked similar to Alex walk by with a boy that looks almost just like me. "Alex, you don't have a twin sister I'm unaware of?" I never took my eyes off of them. Alex seemed to not hear my question. He was arguing with Candace which exhibits would be the perfect ones to visit first. I sigh as I get up and go after the two strangers. I followed them to a closed off exhibit. They went through not noticing me following them. I made sure I wasn't being followed as I went after them. "Percy be quiet. This is off limits and we're in a public place, you never know what'll find us here." That's when I heard loud screaming. I quickly hid behind a statue of some woman, but I wasn't sure who it was though I didn't really care. I heard two sets of footsteps run pass me. I poked my head out to see I am alone. I walked around the exhibit. It was all about the sea god Poseidon and those close to him. I got bored of the exhibit so I decided to leave. I turn to leave and run into a worker. I look up at him and laugh nervously. "I was just leaving..." He just stared at me. I got uncomfortable so I walked around him. "Nireta..." I stop walking as I look at the worker confused. His voice didn't sound... Normal. It sounded as if it isn't really human. Like he is hiding his true self or form. "What?" He looks at me with a blank face, his eyes looked so glossed over as if someone else was in control. "Nireta you must return to the sea." He started walking towards me. I walked backward as he moved closer to me. That's when he lunged at me. Out of reflex I placed my hands on his shoulders and pushed down on them as I, not only jump over but flip over him. I landed perfectly as I looked at him.

He growled as he got up, causing my eyes to widen in surprise. I look around then grab a sheet off of a statue near the woman I had been hiding behind earlier. I threw it on him to distract him. I ran out of the exhibit while he dealt with the sheet. I ran around looking for Candace and Alex. I hadn't been paying attention as I ran into the boy and girl from earlier. I look at him for a split second before looking back as if to see if I was being followed. "Whoa there, are you okay?" I look back at the boy. I nod slowly before hearing an inhuman noise. I look back as I see the man from earlier. My eyes widen as I look around for a quick exit without harming anyone in the process. "(Y/n)! There you are!" I looked to where the voice came from. I saw Alex and Candace with Max and Jack behind them. My heart dropped as the worker ran at us as he turned into a Minotaur. "No!" I ran pass Candace and the boys. I don't know what I am doing. That's when the water fountains broke and a wall of water separated the Minotaur and us. I am surprised by this. "Percy!" I look back at Percy and that girl from earlier. He looked at her with his hands up as if to say he wasn't doing it. I look back at the wall of water. I quickly leave the museum. Once I am outside of the building the wall of water fell, but the Minotaur wasn't there only a green dust that soon disappeared. Alex looks at Percy and the girl surprised. "Annabeth, Percy why are you two here and what was that all about? I thought you weren't supposed to..." Before he could finish his sentence he knew exactly who did that. He smirks and gently pats Percy's shoulder. "Congratulations Percy, you have a sister." Annabeth hits Alex on the head. Alex looks at his sister and sighs. "I'll go after her."
