As I leave my cabin some people stop to stare at me, which makes me greatly uncomfortable. I see Alex looking at Candace with that love sick puppy look. I roll my eyes and make my way over to them. "And you should take her to somewhere that's special to both of you." Candace says before looking at me. "Hey (Y/n)! You look cute with your curls." I nod as I look from Alex to Candace. "So has he do it yet? You know ask her out?" Candace shakes her head. "No, but he's been practicing on me." I hit my forehead because of Candace's obliviousness. "What? Should he practice on you instead?" Candace asks still oblivious to the fact she's the one he's after. I open my mouth to say no, but Alex prevents the word from escaping my mouth. "That's a wonderful idea! I'll try on (Y/n)." He says as he looks at me. He had that look of wanting me to go along with it. I sigh as I cross my arms. "Go on then lover boy." Alex slightly glares at me for the nickname. "You could at least act like you care." I roll my eyes and put my arms down, but keep them in front of my body as if to stay closed off from him. I smile at Alex sweetly as I tilt my head slightly. "What is it you wanted to talk to me about Alex?" I say so sweetly that you'd think I acted this way all the time. Alex was caught off guard, but still went with it. "I was wondering if you're free this Friday. If you are would you like to hangout... together.... alone..." I put a finger up to my lips as if I had to think about my answer. "I'm sorry, but I'm busy this Friday. Also I think you need to work on asking people out." I say so sweetly that it's sickening. He seemed quite disappointed. I look at Candace as a smirk forms on my face. "Are you free this Friday?" Candace nods as she looks at me. "Why?" I look at Alex. "Are you free this Friday?" Alex nods as he tries to figure out what I was planning. "Good, I'm not. Have fun on your date." I say as I walk away before either one of them could say something.

"Your hair looks really pretty!" I force a smile on my face as more of the demigods complimented my hair. It made me quite uncomfortable, mainly because I'm used to being teased by people for my looks even though I don't look that bad. Not long after gaining compliments from campers, some children of Aphrodite came over to me. I could tell that some of them were jealous of my naturally curly hair. "What products do you use?" I looked at a brown haired girl with green eyes, who is touching my hair without asking first, quite confused. She noticed my confusion and sighs in annoyance. "Your hair. You obviously have to use something to make your hair this curly." She says as if it's a known fact. I push her into the other two children of Aphrodite out of anger. "I don't use anything! For your information I get it from my dead mother, you insufferable pricks!" I tell the loudly. None of them knew what to say. "I, we, I um..." I roll my eyes and walk away. "Not even worth my time." I grumble as I head to the entrance of the camp.

I sat down a little ways from the entrance as I stare out at the world outside of camp. "Mom, I really miss you. I know I haven't seen you in a while, but I hope you can hear me. I hope that you're safe and happy where you are. I still haven't met my father, but he did claim me. I found out I have a brother. He's really sweet, but annoying like most siblings are. Candace is doing well so is her mother. I made some friends other than Candace like you wanted. They're all amazing the way they are. I also ran into Luke, the boy I used to be helplessly in love with. He's not as cool as I used to think, but there is this one boy. His name is Nico. He's really cool! I don't know exactly how I feel about him, but I can see us being great friends. I guess I'm just a sucker for those close to death." I laugh softly at my own joke. I felt tears form in my eyes as I pulled my legs up to my chest while wrapping my arms around them and resting my head on my knees. "Why does it still hurt even though you've been gone for a few years now? Shouldn't I be happy to be alive?" I mumble as tears roll down my cheeks. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have gotten so close to those sharks. If I hadn't you'd be alive today. You wouldn't have died because of my stupid decision. I should've feared the sharks like a normal person, but I'm not normal..." I lift my head up as I looked at the sky. Tears rolling down my cheeks as my vision blurs from the tears. "You already knew that mom, didn't you? That's why you sacrificed yourself for me. I wish I could do something that would make you proud of me." I say to the sky unaware of the presences behind me. "She's quite pathetic, isn't she sister." I hear boy's voice, but I don't look to see who it is behind me. "Yes she is brother." A girl says, but I didn't care. "Also a disappointment to demigods alike. We should show her how difficult things truly are here." I close my eyes as they approach me.

"What happened to your hair?!" I shrug at the question as Will tends to my wounds. "(Y/n)! This is serious! Tell us who did this so we can tell-" I glare at Candace and Percy as I cut Candace off. "It doesn't matter, now leave me alone!" I didn't mean to raise my voice at her, but I'm not in the mood to deal with this. Candace looks at the ground knowing I didn't want to discuss it any further. "Let's go Percy. We should let the others know everything is okay." She says softly then leaves with a confused Percy following behind.

"Why didn't you tell them?" I look at Will and sigh softly. I close my eyes, which are still a bit puffy and red from the crying. "Candace will go overboard and hurt them till they're close to death and I'm not sure what Percy will do just yet." I tell him as I open my eyes to look at Will. He motions for me to lift my shirt. I had a huge shallow cut across my abdomen. I carefully lift my shirt up so Will could clean the wound then bandage it. Will starts to clean it, but soon Nico enters, completely unaware of what had happened. He reaches us then stops. He stares at me without showing any emotion. "What happened to her?" He asks as he looks to Will, who's focused on my wounds at the moment to pay attention to Nico. I explained what happened to Nico while leaving out who did it and the fact you were crying because of the encounter with the Aphrodite kids. Not because I didn't want him to know who it was, it is more like I didn't know. I didn't see who did it, but I just knew it was a brother and a sister though Nico is the only one who I told that to. For some reason you trusted him. "That doesn't explain why your eyes are red and puffy." Nico says softly as he sits down in a seat next to your bed. Soon Will finishes cleaning the cut on my abdomen and wrapping it in up, which means I could put my shirt down. When my shirt was down I face Nico. "I was confronted on my long curly hair by some kids of Aphrodite. One insisted that I use products to get my hair curl, but I told her that I got it from my dead mother. You'd think that something that happened ten years ago wouldn't affect me so much now like it did then." I look at the floor as I tried to keep from crying again.

"Alright. You're free to go. I'd suggest getting Piper to fix your hair." I look at Will and smile softly. "Thank you." I go outside only to be pulled into a hug, which hurt like crazy. "Let go of her. She's clearly in pain." I look to see Luke glaring at Candace, who is hugging me. "I can't help it. She's my best friend." I pull away from Candace as I hide the fact that it hurt to move so much. "What do you want Luke?" He crosses his arms as he look at me. "Travis and Conner sent me to check up on you since they're busy at the moment with some kind of thing." I watched as a soft light pick color appeared on his cheeks. I smile at him, I could tell he still cares about me even if doesn't want admit it. Before I could answer Nico walks out from behind me. "(Y/n) are you going to see Piper?" I look at him and nod. "Yeah, I'm about to head to her cabin. Do you want to come with me?" He nods and walks pass Luke, completely ignoring his presence. I look at Luke and smile softly. "Tell them I'm fine." I say before catching up to Nico, despite the pain I felt from doing that.
