As we drew closer to the volcano the are became more dry and lost all humidity it once had in the woods. Along with that the grass and very few trees where for the most part dead. When we reached the bottom of the volcano many howls went up announcing our arrival. Minutes later we reached the peak where Alpha's den was located, I was not outside long because my oh so nice escort shoved me into the opening of the den.

When I entered the den Alpha's booming voice entere echoed through the room "Ahh Light, Darek was able to find you!" I instinctively cowered when Alpha began to approach me, but he motioned for me to stand, so obeyed without a word. "Light sneaking out won't solve anything, especially curiosity! That is why I requested you returned imminently so I could bestow upon you good news." I nodded not risking a word still frightened by the older and larger male in fort of me. Seeing my motion he went on "So I have decided to give you the job of messenger of the fire pack." What came next surprised Alpha so much that his mouth lay open, I jumped up spread my wings and started to fly around the top of the room. Now keep in mind I am in a wolf pack, no one ever thought me how to fly, and honestly I didn't know how I did it cause when I noticed I was I fell straight out of the air and back onto the ground. When I looked up Alpha was still sitting there wide eyed and mouth slightly open. I simply looked at him and said "Don't look at me I don't know how I did that!"

After that odd and surprising event was over, Alpha shook his head and spoke once more, this time in a stern voice. "Okay Light, training starts tomorrow, meat Héth at the base of the volcano where the river flows." With that I was off to my small den lower on the volcano to rest for the training that would ensue tomorrow.
