Flying High (Terrorknuckle) (Superhero AU)

Chapt. 9

     I woke up to talking around me.  I slowly opened my eyes and saw most of the guys were awake.  Brian and Tyler were still very much asleep.  We were in what looked like an abandoned building.  I sat up and the guys that were awake greeted me. 
     "Tyler and Brian were given a larger dosage of the drug to knock us out.  Last time they tried to sedate us they didn't give them enough so they woke up part way through transportation,"  Evan said trying to explain what happened. 
      "Why did they just let us go?" I asked in a raspy voice. 
      "I don't know the other time they captured us, we escaped them.  We should probably keep our eyes out for anything they might be planning."  I nodded in understanding.  My mind drifted to what Kevin told me before we were sedated and I started to think about what I did love.  I started raking through my mind for the answer to that when I heard a groan and looked over to see Brian moving slowly.    I looked at him and the sun shining through the window seemed to hit his dark brown hair perfect.  His pale skin tone looked gorgeous even with the dirt and sweat covering it.  I was taken out of my gaze as he opened his eyes and sat up.  In that moment I realized that I had feelings toward the man sitting on the ground next to me.  I had to try and hide those feelings to protect him.  I would have to ignore him so Kevin wouldn't think anything about him. 
      "BROCK ARE YOU THERE?!" Craig yelled and brought me out of my thoughts. 
     "Yeah I'm here, what do you need?" I asked and he looked at me in worry. 
      "Okay?  I was just wondering what that man was talking to you about.  He seemed to be very interested in you." 
      "Well I'm the first person he's seen to have more than one power and he was talking to me about that," I answered half truly.  The guys seemed to believe me but Brian gave me an unbelieving stare.  I bit at my lip and tried to not look at him in the eyes.  The guys went back to talking about random topics as we waited for Tyler to wake up. 
      "I know that's not all that man talked to you about," Brian said quietly sitting next to me.  "I was in the cell next to your's.  I heard everything you said to him and vise versa." 
     "It was nothing really.  Just let it go and it'll help everyone not to get too close to me," I said to him in the most serious way I could.  He gave me a shocked look and I seemed to shrink into the floor. 
     "I would do that, but I like you too much to just let you go.  I mean I really like you Brock."  Tears started to Well in my eyes at the thought of how everyone I love is dead and anyone to love me will die.  Brian put his arms around me and I cried into his shirt.
