Ch.3

Luke's POV

And there she was. Her wavy brown hair, and cute freckles. Her irresistible eyes, a shocking shade of violet. Her lips were the perfect pink, full, and so kissable it hurt.

"Luke?" She said. I couldn't help it. She was so innocent it made me almost not want to break her, but then I remembered her words for earlier.

She looks at me as a monster, a predator,a venomous snake going for the kill. Come in Luke get it together. I thought. You have a bet to win.

"Hello beautiful." I said. Her cheeks instantly heated up a light pink I found myself chuckling at her innocence.

"What are you doing here,Luke?" She asked. Her voice was so soft and innocent. It was like a glass of water after a one thousand year drought." I'm here to see you Beth." I said, and her cheeks once again flushed.

"Why?" She questioned.

"Because." I started." Because I think your beautiful, and amazing. I would like to take you on a date if you'll give me the honor of accepting."

She puckered her pretty pink lips like she had just tasted something sour." No." She said and slammed her window shut. I grinned that's what I like about her, her resistance. It's what makes her so much more than I pretty face.

Thankfully I had been expecting rejection. I ran back to my car and grabbed my guitar, and then went and sat on her yard

I started to sing oh calamity by all time low

When I was younger I was certain

That I'd be fine without a queen

Just a king inside his castle

With an ocean in between

Now all I do is sit

And count the miles from you to me

Oh, calamity

We get older by the hour

Watch the changes from afar

Keep forgetting to remember

Where we've been is who we are

Now all I do is wonder

Why we ever set the scene

Oh, calamity

It's such a shame that we play strangers

No act to change what we've become

Damn, it's such a shame that we've built a wreck out of me

Oh, calamity

Oh, calamity

I'll remember nights alone

And waking up to dial tones

Always found my greatest moments

In the sound of your hello's

Now I struggle to recall

The reasons you would come to leave

Oh, calamity

It's such a shame that we play strangers

No act to change what we've become

Damn, it's such a shame that we've built a wreck out of me

Oh, calamity

Oh, calamity

If I catch you on the corner

Will you even know it's me?

Will I look familiar to you?

Do you offer me a seat?

Can we find a new beginning?

Do you turn the other cheek?

Oh, calamity

It's such a shame that we play strangers

No act to change what we've become

Damn, it's such a shame that we play strangers

No act to change what we've become

Damn, it's such a shame that we've built a wreck out of me

Oh, calamity

Oh, calamity

Oh, calamity

Come back to me

When I finished the last note Beth peeked her head out the window.

"I didn't know you sang." She said softly before adding." That's my favorite song." I broke out into a smile." Mine to." I said truthfully. We just sat there smiling at each other before I spoke." So you'll come."

She hesitated before nodding her head. . This bet was going to be easier than I thought
