Taehyung went home after a bit more discussion, promising to call back the next day with an answer. Not only was he skeptical about it himself, but he figured it would probably be best to ask Jungkook first.
He crashed onto his bed and pulled out his phone. He called Jungkook, as he was too tired to text him instead.
"You don't normally call," Jungkook answered, seeming to skip right over the 'hello' part normally included in phone calls.
"Yeah, but I figured it would be easier than texting."
"What happened?"
"They offered me another job," he said. "It's for some sort of antibullying or antiabuse campaign or something like that."
The other end of the line was silent for a moment. "I see."
"Would you be fine with that?" It felt wrong to be asking him for permission, but it was worth protecting his friends.
"Well. . . I'm not too fond of the idea of you showing off the bruises I gave you. But, if it's something you really want to do, then I'll allow it."
"It's not that I really want to do it," he said. "It's my agency that really wants me to do it. Since missing out on the Gucci shoot is a major loss they want me to do this to compensate for it."
"Are you fine with doing it?"
"What?" The question caught Taehyung off-guard.
"If you're uncomfortable with it then you don't have to do it," he said. "Your agency can't force you and I'm sure they won't fire you or anything." His voice was very calming and reassuring.
"True," he sighed. "But I want to at least make up for a little bit of the money they're losing because of me."
"You wouldn't be in this situation if you hadn't decided to act out."
"I know." Taehyung's heart grew heavy. "Gosh, I'm such an idiot." He let himself fall backwards onto his pillows. Since he didn't really think it through, he ended up hurting himself because of his injuries, causing him to wince.
"You're not an idiot, you just don't think about the consequences of your actions." A muffled voice was heard in the background. "I have to go. Text me when you make a decision, alright, baby boy?"
"Yes, sir."
The call was ended and Taehyung was forced to make a choice. On one hand, he felt bad about the Gucci shoot and wanted to make up for it. On the other, he didn't feel very comfortable having pictures taken of him with the injuries caused by Jungkook. He rubbed his eyes as he considered each side, suddenly realizing how tired he was.
He shook his head to keep himself from being sleepy and stood up, walking over to his desk and sitting down, grabbing a large notepad and a pencil. He drew a quick t-chart with the word 'Pros' on one side and the word 'Cons' on the other, hoping this method would help him come to a decision. He had learned it from Jimin, who commonly made such charts when he was stuck between two shoots or basically any other slightly difficult decision.
I cant just choose right away, he thought. I need to start thinking before I do things.
He spent the next half hour coming up with various pros and cons, writing each down as he thought of them. When he was finally done, he looked over the list, seeing that there were a few more pros than cons. He accepted it as a final answer and made his decision. He was going to call the agency the next day and accept the job.
He texted Jungkook saying he accepted the job, waiting about ten minutes after he read the message before realizing he wasn't going to respond anytime soon. He sighed and plugged his phone into the charger, turning his light off before laying down, getting as comfortable as possible and trying sleep.
