Chapter Five - Tiffany
six days until the cheerleading championships
"Hello, earth to Lucy!" I wave my hand in front of my bestie's face.
Lucy's voice cracks.
"He...likes you, or Teresa, doesn't he?"
"Why would that matter, you seem so upset." But as I say that, something has come to my realization, so I add "Omigosh, you like him, don't you?"
Lucy nods slightly.
"How come you never told me?" I say, slightly puzzled.
"Because, well, it's clear that he isn't into me like that. I didn't want to cause a problem."
"Honey, you don't know that. Maybe he's head over heels for you."
"But why would it be me? Look at you Tiffany, you're literally perfect. There's absolutely no reason for him to fall for me."
"You and I both know that that's not true. You're an amazing person, and anyone who fails to see thatis not worthy of your attention. You're quirky, sweet, and one of the nicest people I know."
"Thanks Tiff. You're the best." Lucy smiles and takes a sip from her hot cocoa.
We head upstairs to start working on the speech. We walk upstairs, but Lucy pauses before opening the door to her room.
"I don't think you've seen my newly decorated room yet, have you?" She asks me. I shake my head. She smirks.
"Well, you're in for a treat."
Slowly, she opens up her door to reveal a breathtaking room transformation. Long, delicate curtains flow down from her soft, flower- themed bed. Fairy lights are strung all over the room, and delicate painting and cute photographs cover her walls. An aquarium sits on a plank above her desk, displaying some of the most interesting, yet beautiful, creatures I have ever seen. Her floors are covered with cute rugs, and the entire is room is summed up by dreamy dreamcatchers that really give her room an extra touch. I stare at her room in awe. It was definitely lovely before the decorations, but this takes lovely to a whole new level.
"Lucy, this is amazing! I absolutely love it. You've really outdone yourself."
Lucy blushes modestly. "Why, thank you."

"Okay, let's get started in that speech of yours. Show me what you got so far." Tiff says.
I clear my throat and start to recite my speech.
" Ladies and gentlemen. I am delighted to speak for you today on behalf of the Louise Maria School cheerleading squad. Today I will share with you the story of how we made it to the competitions."
I sigh and put my paper down. "And...that's all."
"That was a great start Lucy! All you have to do now is-" Tiffany is interrupted by our phones buzzing at the same time. We pull out our phones only to descover an e-vite. I quickly open it, curious to see who was throwing a party.
