Chapter Two - Teresa

Chapter two - Jack

one month before the basketball games

I peek outside of the door cautiously. Nothing except the faint whisper of a familiar voice. A mixture of fear and curiousity breaks out inside of me. Hesitatingly , I put down a foot on my garden. I look around. Nothing. I walk around my garden at a slow pace, looking in every nook and cranny. This is starting to get strange. I am certain someone is out there. And just as those thoughts run into my mind, I spot a shadow around the wall of my house. Scared, I mean, fearlessly, I stomp towards the shadow. I actually start running towards it. When I come there, there is nothing. Nothing at all. What the heck? That is until I see the one thing that I absolutely dread. A snake! I try not to scream, yet a small yelp manages to escape from my mouth. I start dashing in the other direction. The snake follows me at rapid speed, slithering closer and closer towards me. I can't control it, so a scream for help leaps out of my mouth. " Someone! Help! There is a poisonous snake chasing me!" This night can't  get any worse, can it?

Oh. Yes it can. "Don't worry Jack! I'll help you!" Yup. It's Teresa. Seriously, can she stop being so clingy to me all the time? It is really getting on my nerves. Annoyed, I mumble, "Thanks for your help. I really don't like snakes." Then, Teresa, in her ever so fake sugary voice says, "oh of course, no problem. I could help anytime if you would like." She pulls the snake from the ground and jams it somewhere in the bushes. I swear I heard a faint thunk as if the snake hit the head of someone possibly hiding in the bushes. Nah, it can't be, my imagination is a bit too vivid. I ask Teresa, yawning: " Hey Ti, why are you actually here at this time? It's really late." She immediatly starts blushing as we both know it was because she wanted my attention. I can't help myself but to grin. "Um..I'm..um.. having a sleepover with a friend who lives near." I don't buy that. " Really? And who is that?" I challenge her. " Her name is... it's Amy" Wait what? She does live here but she is a nerdy book lover that Teresa would not even dar speak to even for a million bucks. "Hm. Okay. Goodnight." "You too Jack! Goodnight!" Ugh. Teresa can really get on my nerves.

Chapter two - Lucy

one month before the cheerleading competitions

I suddently wake up from the beeping of my phone. I am surprised to realize it is Jack.

Jack_basketball: Um, Lucy, do you have any idea what Teresa was doing next to my house at midnight?

Lucy <3: What? You're kidding, right?

Jack_basketball: No. She literally was next to my house claiming she is having a sleepover with Amy after she 'saved' me from a snake attack.

Lucy <3: She practically hates Amy. What nonsense is this?

Jack_basketball: Your friend really tries to be near me a lot.

Lucy <3: This explains why she was busy today. She isn't at a sleepover. She was planning this all along. I can't believe her sometimes!

Jack_basketball: Me neither. This is rediculous. Well, I better go. Goodnight :)

Lucy <3: Night :)

I watch Jack go offline. He doesn't really go online much, and certainly not at this time, so it was kinda special. I decide to message Stella and Teresa.

Lucy <3: Stella! Wake up!

Stellaaa: Lucy! What the heck? It's like, midnight! This better be good.

Lucy <3: Ti was so "busy" because she was getting ready for a sneaky plan with Jack as victim.

Stelaaa: OMG NO WAY! How could she?

Lucy <3: ikr :( her crush on Jack is annoying me.

Stellaaa: Dnt worry, Ti won't figure out that u like him too. Besides, he probably doesn't like any of u.

Lucy <3: I'm gonna ask Ti what her prob was.

Stellaaa: Kay! Goodluck, night x

Lucy <3: Bye Stella x

I start typing furiously at Teresa. What the heck was she even thinking? This is going to far.

Lucy <3: Teresa! What the heck?

Teresa_xo: Hello, what r u even thinking? I was asleep for hours until u woke me.

Lucy <3: U mean minutes, not hours.

Teresa_xo: Huh?

Lucy <3: Jack told me everything, no point hiding it.

Teresa_xo: Oh yeah! I did save him from a snake! Don't worry, it was nothing. Don't be jelous.

What? Wow, she really thinks I was jelous? What is wrong with her?

Lucy <3: No, ofc I'm not jelous. But the snake was planned. That's why you were busy.

Teresa_xo: No?! Gurl u are so tired ur saying nonsense! LOL! :D

Oh wow. No use dealing with her when she is in this mood. I will deal with her tomorrow.

Lucy <3: LOL! Yes, I think so! I better go!

Teresa_xo: Kay! Bye!

I sigh and let my phone drop from my hand as I fall asleep again.

Chapter two - Teresa

Lucy <3: LOL! Yes, I think so! I better go!

I hesitate before saying:

Teresa_xo: Kay! Bye!

I can't believe I just did that. Am I out of my mind? Blurs of memories come back. Jack. Snake. Me forcing Cloe to help with my plan. I must be crazy! Then I completely deny it when Lucy, a friend so close to me, asks me about it. I must go to a therapist. Love makes you forget about the world, about everything you value except the one you love. And the horrible part is, I did it just for attention! It is clear that Jack likes Lucy. And I can't stand that, because she doesn't even like him! I feel like I'm trapped in a mordern day love story. From now on, I won't do anything like that. Lucy probably knows Jack likes her, So I wish them the best. They will look cute together. I sigh at that thought. I need to focus on life, not love. I drop my phone and try to fall back asleep, but fail. Not only have I just done the weirdest, creepiest thing ever,  I have also lied. I wasn't with that mousy, bookish, Amy, I was with Cloe, and the snake was on purpose. Her brothers let me use their pet. I realize that it would be appropriate to message Cloe to appologize.

Teresa_xo: Cloe? I know ur here. It says ur online.

I wait for at least five minutes, but I don't recieve any reply

Teresa_xo: Cloeeee I'm sorry I'm here to appologize.

This time it only takes a minute to receive a response.

Crazzycloe:  You have two minutes to explain yourself.

Teresa_xo: I did it because I like Jack.

Her mood changes in a flash.

Crazzycloe: OMG! You never told me that! Awh, that's totally cute!

Teresa_xo: But you have Cameron as your bf, ur the lucky one. I have been single for, like, forever.

Crazzycloe: You've only been single for 3 months, Teresa.

Teresa_xo: Nvm. I still am very sorry for 2night. it won't happen again.

Crazzycloe: It's ok chica. ttyl.

Teresa_xo: Bye, nite.

I go offline and try to fall asleep again. I need to explain everything tomorrow and appologize far everything. Oh, what mess have I gotten in!
