I woke up in the hospital, not knowing what day it was. Looking to my side I saw Tyler sitting on a chair, asleep. There was food packages all around him, and a laptop that was open with its screen turned on bright. I swallowed my saliva, feeling how dry my throught was I coughed. Tyler stirred, and looked at me, groggily.
"Hi." I croaked.
"Your'e awake." he said in amazement.
"How long have I been asleep?" I asled, it couldnt have been that long.
"A week." he replied moving to my bed. "Once you fainted in my arms I got you to the hospital immediatly, They checked your blood and they thught that the found something. They're still running tests right now, but in the mean time you had lost so much blood that you had to be hospitalized. You've been asleep ever since." There was something wrong woth my blood?
"Oh. Do you have water?" I croaked again looking down.
"Ya here." he said with an exausted smile on his face, passing me a clear bottle.
"How long have you been here?"
"Almost a whole week, so have your parents, they've been in and out taking care of your niece" He stayed here all this time? what about school? He should'nt sacrifice his school to sit in a chair for me. "and everyone in school has been wondering about you,Emily even came to visit with Jasmine and Sophia. I think now that your'e awake more people will come."
"You stayed here all this time? How did you do school? How did your mom allow it?"
"Well... I don't care about school. My mom.. well she's fine with it. And ya ofcourse I stayed. Your parents did ask me to leave, but I told them that you would want me to stay." he scratched his back guiltily.
"Tyler. You can't give up your schooling and life to sit in a chair for me!" this could ruin the rest of his schooling. the year was almost up and finals were next week.
"I don't know I thought you would appreciate it." he sounded stressed, about to break.
"Oh trust me I do, its just, I'm not worth just sitting in a chair for." he started crying. Bewildered, I patted him on the back. Why was he crying? He shifted his weight so that i could see his face, it was blochy nd bloated, his half asian eyes were red and heavy. It looked like this was one of the many break downs he had had.
"They said that it could be deadly whats in your blood. I have to stay with you, because what if these are my last days with you?' Oh. I could be dying. Oh, is all that i could think, oh. I sat up and hugged him. I had to be strong now, this was his time to cry. i had never seen him cry befor, with such intensity and pain. Fiercly closing my eyes so that tears would not spill I said
"I'm sure that I'll be fine, I just lost a little bit of blood." he pulled out of the hug and wiped his tears away.
"Yeah" *heavy sigh* "You're right" I guess he really did love me.
"Before the doctors come in, you hould know that we need to talk about what happened at the school." My throught tightened. Thats right I can't tell her about this.
"Everyones talking about how you ran, it's the school talk. I guess now theyre talking about how I never came back." I could care less about what they thought. Now all I had to think about was the fact that Vanessa was gone, and there was no one in the world who could repalce her. Seeing my distanced look he put his warm hand on my cheek.
"Hey, we'll talk about it later." his voice was soft and tender this time, like he was handeling precious material. "I'll call your parents, oh and here comes the doctor." the doors to my room opened and in came a man with a white jacket on."
"Oh good your'e up." he said perkily, and a tear dropped down my face.
