The Game
Chapter 3
Arianna’s POV
Savvy and I decided that the only fair way to pick the guy for our bet is by fate. So, we are now currently standing at the corner of our street that our school is located in. Since it’s after school time, only students are passing by right now. Therefore, the first guy that walks by that goes to our school and is single, will be the unlucky chosen guy for our bet.
So far only girls have walked by, and a couple of guys with their girlfriends. “What if a group of guys walked by? Which one will it be then?” I ask.
“The first one to the left?” Savvy raises her eyebrow.
“Ok.”
As soon as that word left my mouth, I can hear a group of not-so unfamiliar voices. “Ooh, here they come! Oh my God, it’s going to be-”
I look toward the direction Savvy is looking at, wondering why she didn’t say the name. One glance was all it took, Blake James, in all his six foot four glory, carrying his backpack just over one of his shoulder, flipping his gorgeous black hair, that makes so many girls melt. In other words, he is the male version of me.
“No, no, no, no, no, no, no.” I keep chanting to myself quietly and quickly, hoping that it will somehow cause a miracle so that Blake will not be the guy. Maybe it worked, because right then in the corner of my eyes, I see a guy probably younger than me, running towards the corner. “Yes! Keep running!” I didn’t realize that I was saying it out loud until Blake’s mesmerizing eyes connected with mine. They are wide in shock, mirroring my expression, but I tore my eyes away to glance at the running guy, however he’s not running anymore, but going back to his friends. What the hell?!
I turn back to Savvy, who is staring at me in pity. “Come on, let’s go. We already know who the guy is going to be, I’ll talk to him later.” I say, tugging her arm forward.
“Ok.” She replies quietly, probably conscious is already eating at her for making the bet.

Blake’s POV
My strange interaction with Arianna didn’t go oblivious to Dylan, he is grinning like a Cheshire cat for some reason. “What?” I ask.
“I just found your girl for the bet.” Dylan smirks at me.
“Who?” I ask. That quick already?
“It’s Arianna Reynolds.” He looks like he’s so proud to come up with that choice.
Before I had time to react, Brad cuts in, “What? You’re setting him up with the hottest girl in Corrington? No fair! I want to be part of the bet!”
“Too late, Brad. So, what do you say, Blakie?” Dylan taunts.
With so many thoughts running through my mind, her face still lingering in my memory, I decide, “I’ll do it.”
