The Game

Chapter 4

Arianna’s POV

Blake James?! Why does it have to be him?! All day long these thoughts have been running through my head, making it impossible for me to ignore the fact that this bet is a huge mistake. I’ve tried to tell Savvy to just cancel this silly little bet, but all she said was, “a deal is a deal, Ari. And I am so so so sorry!”

It doesn’t matter how much she apologizes, it doesn’t help the fact that Blake James is now my target. It’s funny how karma works in a way, and almost as if Savvy is glad somehow that fate has been playing me like this.

“Where are you going?” Savvy asks when I’m about to step out the door.

“Out with Cole.” I reply curtly still mad at her. Oh, yes, thank god I remember that guy’s name. He called me two hours ago and we had quite an awkward conversation since I couldn’t remember his name.

“You’re still going on a date with him? Do you not remember our bet?” Savvy scrunches up her eyebrows. Not an attractive look bestie.

“Of course,” answering both of her questions, “a date is not going to hurt anyone.”

“Alright…” She says skeptically, “have fun!” She yells out when I was about to slam the door. I wave quickly and step into the driveway.

“So which movie do you want to watch?” Cole asks pointing at the posters in front of us.

“Hunger Games.” I reply without hesitation. I have been waiting to see this movie ever since the book came out! Yeah, I’m a little excited.

“Oh…” He answers rather disappointedly while staring at the Breaking Dawn poster. Oh, this guys is so not getting a second date.

While I was mentally this guy a loser, I hear a giggle from my right. Call me nosy but I naturally turn my head to the right.

What a surprise, I thought sarcastically. Blake is standing there with his arm flung around a petite girl who is blushing like she never had before, or she was wearing too much make-up, I can’t tell.

He has this sleepy eye look, which most girls would probably say he looks hot, and I’m not going to lie, he does look pretty good right now.

“Arianna? Hello?” I swivel my head back to the front, which I realize now that it’s been blocked by Cole’s hand.

“Um, yeah. Hey can you get us those tickets now?” I ask him with a flirtatious smile, which worked on so many hopeful boys before. Of course Cole is one of them. He gave me a huge grin and quickly walk toward the counter.

“Hey Arianna.”

A familiar voice creep up behind me. I thought about pretending that I didn’t hear him, but Savvy’s words roll into my mind, a deal is a deal.

I sigh and turn around with what I hope is a surprised face. “Oh hey Blake! What are you doing here?”

He gave me a weird look back, “um, to watch a movie?”

I want to smack myself in the face right now, I am not going to get a stuffed animal if I keep acting stupid like this! “Oh haha right. So who did you come with?” Not that I care.

“Stephanie.” He replies and nod towards her direction.

I look behind me and the petite girl now has a sour expression on her orange face. When she notice I was looking at her, she quickly arrange that expression to a friendly one and wave to me. Fake bitch! I scream in my mind, but I still smile back at her. And people say that I’m not nice, tsk tsk.

She probably took my smile as an encourage because she is walking toward us, or more like Blake.

“Hey Stephanie.” I say.

Her face is back to a sneer, “it’s Stacey.”

I quickly glance at Blake, seeing that he has his eyebrows raise up clearly not expecting this. Ok, wow, so we’re both bad with names.

“Oh sorry.’ I say not a dip of apologetic tone in it what so ever. Who needs to be nice to this bitch here anyway. I bet if it was Blake who called her by the wrong name, she would probably smile and legally change her name to Stephanie.

“Hey I’ve got the tickets!” Cole suddenly yells out all of a sudden. Oh no, I almost forgot he was here.

When he got closer he notices Blake and Stacey standing there with arms around each other. It doesn’t bother me, but it obviously bothers Cole, since he surprisingly has the guts to put his arms around my waist. Wow, and I pinned him to the shy type?

Blake looks at Cole’s occupied arm with a thoughtful expression, I scrunch my eyebrows, what’s up with him?

“Blake, can we go watch Breaking Dawn?” Stacey asks, batting her eyes. Someone needs me hand me a bucket!

“No.” Blake replies without even looking at her. “We’re watching the Hunger Games.” He nods toward the poster. At least the guy has good taste in movies.

I glance at Cole to see if he wants to change his mind about the movie we’re going to watch. I mean, I know I can be a cold-hearted person sometimes, but if he wants to watch a sissy movie, I’m not going to be the one to stop him.

Instead he turns to me, offering a small smile, “you ready to go?” He asks nodding toward the theater.

I smile back and grab a hold of his hand, aww, he’s willing to give up possibly his favorite movie for me? How sweet.
