We pulled into the hospital, the nurse kept giving me a look, it was terrifying me. I could feel it every time she looked at me that Ben wasn't getting any better. He still wasn't breathing. If he didn't start breathing soon they were going to have to stop trying. I followed them inside and Josh was instantly by my side.

"Are you ok?" He asked.

"Ben's still not breathing," I replied.

"I asked if YOU were ok." He said. I looked at him, my lip quivering and broke down, wrapping my arms around Josh.

"What if he doesn't wake up? What if the last thing we did was fight? What if I never got to tell him? What am I going to do if I never see him again?" I asked as I sobbed in Josh's chest. He hugged me tightly and sighed.

"I cant tell you whats going to happen. I can only tell you that he already knows." Josh said comfortingly. I nodded and pulled out of the hug. Then I quickly rushed down the hall that the nurse and doctor ran down with Ben. I knocked on the door and the nurse came out of the room.

"You'll have to wait out here until we're finished. It's complicated right now and we don't want you to panic or get in the doctor's way." She said kindly. I understood what she was saying but I really wanted to be in that room. I took a deep breath and nodded.

"Tell me when I can go in. I'll be in the waiting room." I said. She nodded and hurried back into the room. I took a peek in the room and then felt my heart drop. I slowly walked back to the waiting room. I couldn't feel myself walking but I knew I was moving. Noah and Kaylee ran in and saw everyone in the waiting room broken down, other than my dad, who was strong enough to not cry but then again he never really was too terribly close to Ben.

"Is he ok?" Noah and Sean asked at the same time as they saw me enter the room. My hand was shaking, my knees were shaking, in fact, I was just shaking in general. My dad stood up and walked over to me, wrapping his arms around me. I took a deep breath and then smiled at my dad and then looked at the others.

"Umm. . . He. . ." It was so hard to say. What I saw was horrific. "They said I wasn't allowed in the room. Mainly because they didn't want me to be afraid of what I was seeing. I only got a glance. They. . ." I took a deep breath and sighed. "They've got a tube in his neck so that he can breathe, but since he wasn't breathing for so long, his heart stopped. . . " As I spoke my voice just grew weaker and weaker. "So they have to jumpstart it back up again. So as of right now. . . It's my fault." I sobbed. My knees went out and I had to sit down on the floor. "I killed Ben," I said.

Eventually, my dad got me to sit down in my seat and calm down. The nurse came out and looked directly at me and nodded a little bit to come walk with her.

"I told the nurse I was family so I could get in the room," I whispered to Sean. "I'll fill you in when I get back," I added. He nodded and I went to follow the nurse. She took me to the room and I was terrified of what I'd see, there was a chance there wouldn't be anything wrong, that it'd be ok, but there was always that chance that there would be something wrong.

"Now, while we were all afraid he wouldn't make it because of how long he wasn't breathing, he is ok. Just go easy on him, his throat is still pretty swollen, but its gone down enough for him to be able to talk. He hasn't said much though. Just be careful and if you need anything, I'll be right down the hall." She explained. I nodded eagerly and she opened the door. I stepped in and for a second I didn't look at Ben.

"Skye," He said, I hated how weak he sounded. I looked at him and instantly teared back up.

"I'm so sorry," I whispered, he shook his head and smiled at me.

"For what? You didn't do anything," He replied. I walked up to the bed and took his hand.

"I gave you that medicine," I explained. He shrugged.

"I'm the one that accepted it. I knew what the side effects were." He said. I bit my lip and nodded, he squeezed my hand the best he could.

"I'm still sorry though. . . For yelling. . . For making you think that you weren't good enough. . . For everything. . ." I apologized. He shook his head and smiled.

"It's fine." He said calmly, it was almost as if one of the medicines they gave him had calmed him down to a serene point. I leaned over and kissed his forehead.

"I'm going to tell the others that you're ok, then I'll be back," I said softly. He nodded at me and squeezed my hand before letting go. I stepped out of the room and walked back to the waiting room. I nodded as everyone looked at me. "He's awake and talking, the nurse said he could be fine once the swelling goes down." Everyone smiled and nodded happily. "I think he can take other visitors now," I said, looking at the woman behind the desk. She nodded.

"Just two at a time for now, then we'll let everyone in. And Mr. Hart, we have new information on your son, you may want to speak to the doctor and the detective." She said. Detective?

"Detective?" My dad asked, having the same thought I did. The woman nodded.

"James awoke in the middle of the night shouting, he had fallen back to sleep rather quickly but he was terrified and said someone had pushed him. We hired a detective and he's currently working on the case of it. We thought you knew?" She asked. My dad shook his head, the woman bit her lip with her brows furrowed. Then she stood. "Let's go talk to the doctor." She said. My dad nodded and went to follow her. I looked at Sean and he got up and followed me to Ben's room.

I leaned against the Doorframe as the two talked. The doctor approached me with a clipboard. I nodded at the boys to get them to stop talking for a moment.

"Alright, you should be able to go home tomorrow if I'm correct. We just want to be sure that the swelling goes all the way down and that it won't flare back up. Otherwise, we'd let you go tonight." The doctor said. He felt Ben's throat and nodded. "Yep, you should be able to go tomorrow." He confirmed. Ben nodded.

"Thank you, Sir," Ben said, the Doctor nodded with a smile and left. I smiled at Ben and he goofily grinned back at me and Sean.

"I'm going to get something to eat, we all missed dinner, do you two want anything?" Sean asked. I shook my head, I hadnt eaten almost all day but I wasn't really hungry. Ben shrugged.

"If they've got anything good I'll take something." Ben offered. Sean nodded and fist bumped Ben before leaving. I sat on a chair by Ben's bed. He sat up and smiled, the doctors had apparently taken all the tubes and such out of him while I was informing everyone he was ok. So now he looked almost normal. "You're still soaking wet." He said.

"I know, I didnt really have time to run home and grab a change of clothes." I said sarcastically. He chuckled and nodded. We just sat and stared at each other for a while, each look having a million words.

"I love you." We said in unison.
