Caspian was silent for a while. I know I have to patient because i feel this might be hard for him to explain and reveal. Finally, he looked back into my eyes. "Well, your probly wondering why i can do. . .unnatural. . .things. Like speed, strength, eye sight, etc." he said slowly."Yeah, of course. You threw a guy into a tree and make doggy noises." i said back. He sighed and said "Well that’s because im. . .well im. . ." "Gifted? Special?" I said trying to prompt him

"I’m a werewolf. And your my mate." He said so quickly i barley understood him. Did i hear him correctly? This has to be a joke. I started to laugh "That’s a good one buddy!" but i abruptly stopped when i looked to him and saw a hurt expression on his face. "Wait, your serious?" I said in disbelief, and he nodded. "No, you can’t be. . you’r not. . . I’m not your. . .I thought things like this only happened in movies!" I exclaimed getting up from the table and started to walk away but he grabbed my wrist with light force.. "Alexandrea, I know it’s hard to believe, but you just have to sit down and listen, please?" i looked down at him and saw his pleading eyes. I sighed. "Fine." I said and sat down again.

He cleared his throat and started to speak again "It all started in the 1900's. And before you as, yes I’m that old. We werewolfs don’t age at the same rate as humans, we are much slower." he looked at me for a understanding gesture. I quickly nodded and he continued. "Ever since i was younger, i knew i was different than all the other kids. So finally i asked my parents at the age of 7 and they told me what i was. At first i didn’t believe it but i soon started to feel the changes in my body. Its like puberty for werewolfs. That’s when i accepted the truth. 5 years after my first change when i was 10 our pack had split into two groups. One group believed in killing humans was wrong, my pack, and the other thought it was ok. That group was led by Gabriel."

"Whoa wait, Gabriel’s one too? Well i must say I’m not too surprised at that one but still!" I said in shock. "Yes, he is one. After they left the pack we started to hear about murders of people being mangled and left for dead in the forests. My pack knew who was doing this so me and the pack leader Chris, went to search for him to have a little chat about keeping a low profile." "And how did that go?" i asked curiously. "Not too well. I lost my temper and we got into a wolf fight, you may call it. After both of us getting beat up pretty badly we called a draw and Chris took me back to the pack. When we got back I got lectures from some pretty furious elders of all the packs and they banished me from the current pack i was in."

I gasped "No way! That’s so mean though! Gabriel so deserved it!" i said a little annoyed. He chuckled and continued "Well all this was happening around the time you and I dated. Speaking of which, i never got to apologize for doing that to you, it was cruel and i have always felt horrible for it.Esphsally now since I realized your my mate…" He said solemnly and hung his head a little. Aw he looked like a little lost puppy dog! no pun intended. "Its ok, I understand now. But explain to me that whole mate thing.” I said.

“Well, as a werewolf, we all are born with “another half” so to speak. It’s like this bond with another person that’s unbreakable unless he or she is rejected by their mate. If that should happen, they live literally forever alone. But if they choose to accept, then that werewolf and their mate will love only each other forever. They would do anything for each other. And as the bond gets stronger, they grow closer. The werewolf is there to protect he or she not matter what. Do you understand now?” I was silent for a moment. Love forever? That’s a lot to take in. I’m not even 16 yet for petes sake!

"So its like getting married but, for your soul?” I asked, he chuckled slightly “Yes something like that. Do you want me to continue they story and talk about that later?” He asked. I nodded. “After getting kicked out of my pack, I just ran. I didn’t know where I was going to go but I just left. After running for a while and staying at random motels, I started to get low on money. That’s when I remembered I had a locked chest filled with a million dollars in it, 1,000 in cash and the rest on a two credit cards, hid way underground in a forest in Idaho.  When I had found it, put the cash and credit cards in a backpack I found along the way, I set off to find what I was looking for.” He looked down at his hands as if he was embarrassed.

 “And what were you looking for?” I asked. “You.” He said simply.
