A Pirate's Rose- Henry Turner

Chapter 3

"What are we doing?" Bella hissed at Henry, who were on top of a bell tower ready to swing over.

"Just follow my lead." Henry whispered back.

"It's a little hard to follow a man without a lead." She fires back. Henry faces her and backs her up into a wall making both of their hearts beat faster.

"I'm not going to shut you up, aren't I?" Henry asked. Bella leans in closer to were her lips almost touch his.

"Never." She whispers.

"QUIET!!!" They hear a woman scream. They look down to see Jack and another woman bickering over who should get killed first.

"That's Carina Smyth, she owns the 'map no man can read'" Henry explains. Bella watched with amusement as Jack and Carina fight over who should die first.

"Enough! Kill them both!" The mayor yelled.

"Hold on!" Henry yelled grabbing Bella's waist, and then swinging.

"I'M AFRAID OF HEIGHTS!!!" Bella shouted, gripping onto Henry's neck. They finally land and Bella slides off of Henry and tumbles on the ground, hitting red coats as Henry does the same. Two red coats tried to grab Bella, but she was too quick for them, running past them and stabbing them with a piece of splintered wood. 2 pirates grabbed Bella and Henry and punched them both in the stomach.

"Did you 2 really think you could defeat us?" One of red coats sneers at Bella.

"No sir, We are just a diversion." Bella says oh to innocently.

"Fire!" Henry yelled. The former crew mates then fired the cannons like planned, causing a riot. Henry ran to save Carina from hanging while Bella ran and punched many soldiers sense she didn't have a sword.

"Don't mess with the rose!" She shouted at a man before a knocking him out. She catches Henry holding up Carina by her stern while one of the head men taunts them.

"Well, look at this. If I kill the coward, the witch hangs. Two for the price of one." The man says.

"Please don't let go of me." Carina begs.

"It might be difficult once he kills me." Henry snaps. Bella walks up with a wooden plank and knocks the man unconscious.

"Mess with the rose, you get the thorn." Bella says smiling at her catchphrase.

"Gentlemen, these 2 prisoners will lead us, to the trident." Jack says pointing at Henry and Carina.

"No, Jack. They will not become our prisoners." Bella stepped in.

"Rose, do mind yourself will you now?" Jack says to her. She pouts and mouths 'sorry' to both of them.

After they get the ship up and rolling, Henry and Carina are still tied up. Bella walked up to Carina with a curiosity filling her brain.

"I don't think you are a witch." Bella says to her. Carina looks up at her with confused eyes.

"You don't?" She asks confused. Bella shakes her head no.

"Do you really think you can find the trident?" Bella asks.

"I know I can." Carina replies. Bella walks over to Henry staring at his face. All her life, Bella wanted to be loved. She reached up to flick away a little bit of blood on his face. Henry couldn't help but lean into her touch.

"I'll free you both soon." She says before walking away. Jack walked over to Carina with her diary.

"There is no map in this map." Jack says dumbfounded.

"Give me my diary." She says.

"Give me the map no man can read." Jack counters.

"If you could read it. Then it wouldn't be call the map that no man can read." Carina says back.

"I beg you please, don't argue with her." Henry says.

"Most of the men on this ship can't read. Which makes all maps, maps that no man can read." Jack states.

"Well if you can't read it, then you've no use for it, or me." Carina says slyly.

"Let me start again. Show me the map." Jack repeats.

"I can't. It doesn't exist yet." Carina confesses.

"She's a witch." Marty exclaims.

"I'm an astronomer." Carina states.

"Ah, she breeds donkeys." One pirates says understandingly.

"No, an astronomer contemplates the sky!" Bella says.

"Yes! Exactly!" Carina says, resting her head back on the mast with her eyes closed. "Finally, someone with a brain."

"Yay, on a donkey." One says.

"No, there's no donkey!" Carina says raising her voice.

"Well then how do you breed them?" Another asks confused.

"Allow me to simplify this equation. Give me the map. Or I'll kill...him, or I'll kill him." Jack says pointing to Henry. Bella's eyes widened and looked back at Jack.

"Jack, please no. You're bluffing!" Bella pleaded Jack. Jack turned to face her with a grin on his face.

"And you're blushing." Jack says to her, making her cheeks go bright red.

"Throw him over!" Jack orders. One of the crew members grabs Bella from running over.

"We call this keel hauling. Young Henry will be tossed over. And he will be dragged under the ship." Jack explains, tears welling up in Bella's eyes.

"Alright. What're you waiting for?" Carina asks, testing Jack. Bella looks at her pleads her to give in. The crew member released Bella and she runs over to see if Henry was alright. Young Henry was tied up and thrown into a lifeboat. Bella turns around only to find that she was tied up and thrown into the lifeboat as well, falling right beside Henry.

"Are you alright?" Henry tried to say through the gag. She nodded and tried to make herself more comfortable. Then Carina came over the side to see Bella and Henry both safe in a lifeboat as she mutters to herself. "Filthy Pirate." For once, Bella agreed.
