Why did he get punched in the face? Max didn't know. He couldn't even think of it because he was out cold. He didn't want to think of it. All he could think of right now was: Where am I and Where is Dawn?

He was dreaming of being a superhero when he awakened. He slowly opened his eyes. His face was sore where he was punched. He was probably bruised. He looked around. He was in some sort of medical area. It wasn't really a room, it was more a tent. But a very large tent. There were doctors and nurses around and about. But they were... Teenagers. Why would teenagers be working in a clinical area?
Max didn't think that they would be responsible enough, but I guess you can't really do much.

But after wondering about why teenagers were working in a hospital tent, he remembered that he didn't even know where he was. He was lying down on a bed made of memory foam or something. He wasn't strapped down or anything, which was good.

He quickly sat up and ran for the opening of the tent. A bunch of the doctors noticed him and started yelling,
"Hey, get back here!"

He was running as fast as he could. He burst out of the tent. The light practically blinded him at first. He was running so fast he could feel the wind. It was peaceful. He looked around at the scenery. There were some training areas. Archery, sword fighting.... but why? He kept running. Then, he came across four enormous buildings. Each with different colored roofs. And these were huge. He could barely comprehend it. It was like a dream come true.

Then, the ground sprang up from under him. He went flying into the air. Then, a wave of water came at him and swallowed him. The water laid him down on the ground without him breaking anything. He gasped for air and looked around swiftly. There was a group of people coming towards him. He got up and ran. Then, another group of people came out of behind one of the buildings and cornered him. He kept running towards them. The first person in the group went to punch him, but Max was so far away. Why would he do that? Suddenly, a big blast of fire came out of his hand. Max slid to the ground, going under the guy's legs. How was Max able to pull this off? And why wasn't he getting tired? Then, he tripped. Over his own shoelaces.

All the people he outran circled him, ready to fight him. The fire guy he just faced came up, and tried to burn him again. Instead, Max dodged it and punched the air at him. Fire Spit out of his own hand. How did he do that?

There was a flurry of attacks but Max just kept dodging and firing back. Suddenly, a girl in a black and blue fighting outfit came over. She had a blue bandana, black clothes, and combat boots. Everyone fell silent. She walked closer to him. Then, she did a spinning attack and sent water at Max. He quickly side-stepped and sent fire back at her. It knocked her a few feet.

Everyone took a step back, their faces displaying mortal shock. Max could hear them whispering under their breath,

"He just beat the combat leader! How did he do that?"

"How could a lousy newcomer best Dawn? She's the best in combat!"

Max didn't have a clue on what they were saying. Something about Dawn, combat leader, something like that.
He couldn't pick it out.

He looked around as everyone stared at him. They were in utter shock. He suddenly became very nervous. They weren't attacking him anymore.

He became very light-headed. He looked at Dawn. She was looking up at him with fear in her eyes. Max backed up.

"I-I...I'm sorry, I don't know what's happening I just-" He started to stutter.

Then, a man came out of the crowd. It was the first adult he had seen the entire time he was at the camp.

"Maxwell Pines," The voice boomed. "It's about time you came to Camp Zodiac."
