It's up to one young girl to find out who she really is and win the trust of her school and teachers before it's too late. Racing against the clock She will find out who she can trust and who will stab her in the back. Will she be able to over come...
Walking down the stairs and into the breakfast hall, I start to think back to last night's dream. Is it normal to have the same dream over and over again? As I am walking the long corridors of the school, an old painting catches my eye. "The Young Airis" said the inscription below it, the painting had a young girl around 3 years old. I must've passed this painting a million times since I moved here, I had always found it intriguing, and the story legend behind the painting was even more fascinating as it tied the school and a family of royal descent together. I had never really studied the painting, however, I have always told myself 'tomorrow', and it's funny how tomorrow never came, days have past, but 'tomorrow' has yet to arrive.
"There you are" I jumped at the sound of that voice, and quickly turned my head to see a tall brunet rushing my way waving her hands at me trying to get my attention. it was Kat.
"Sorry, must've lost track of time, whats up?" I managed to speak with a smile while trying to calm down my racing heart.
"Oh nothing, just the fact that the breakfast hall will open in two minutes and we are still standing in this hallway doing..." Kat looked at the painting, then at me, "What are we doing exactly?"
"Just looking at this painting" "We are always looking at this painting, come on I am starving!"
"You're always hungry Kat"
"Oh shut up Ellie" The hallway filled with laughter as those words came out of Kat's mouth, and we started to walk to the breakfast hall
There was a massive student pile up at the end of the hallway. I looked at my watch and saw that it was only 6:59am. The doors always open at 7am on the dot. Just as the clock struck 7 the giant doors swung wide open and let us in. Everyone made their way in and got in line to get their breakfast, then made their way to an empty seat at a table. I always got the same thing, scrambled eggs, a side of bacon and toast, orange juice, and a cup of yogurt. After grabbing breakfast, I went to go sit down at the usual table, and wait for the rest of my friends. Kat was the first to arrive, and then came Leo, and Ashley.
"Dude, you always get the same thing, doesn't it ever get boring?" Ashley said as he stared at my food, and looked a little frustrated with me.
"Nope, besides its simple and it give me the energy I need for classes" I felt myself smirk and then look down at my food/
"Well alright then" He responded with a mocking smile.
We all ate and just talked about classes and what the day would look like. Soon it was 7:45. "We might want to get going," Leo said, checking his watch and putting a banana in his bag. I put my yogurt cup in my bag along with a plastic spoon. "Leo is right, we can't be late to class" I said as I swung my school bag over my shoulder and started to get ready to leave the Breakfast hall.
All four of us have 3 classes together, and I have one class with Leo, one with Kat, and two with Ashley. We have our lunch break together. I look down at my schedule:

I noticed that both semesters are identical, so I went ahead and I marked who I had class with. As we were making our way to class we once again passed the painting hanging on the wall. This time I notice something that I haven't seen before. The girl in the painting is holding a gold, heart shaped locket. I stop to stare at it and what it might contain inside. For some reason I have a feeling it might be valuable information.
Just as I am studying the design on the locket I feel an arm start to pull me away. I snap out of my trans and see that it is Ashley.
"Come on, we don't want to be late, you can stare at the painting some other time" Ashley said as he pulled me down the hall and we re-grouped with Kat and Leo.
"The homework itself..." We must've interrupted Kat's thoughts when she saw us because she let out a funny sign "There you are Ellie, was she looking at that weird painting again"
Leo laughed, "She probably was"
"Oh you bet she was" Ashley answered
"HEY! It's interesting that's all, I am interested in the legend or story behind that painting." I answered and crossed my arms as I passed my friends and entered the class room.
"Oh El, we can go to the library and find a book on it." Ashley playfully said as he put an arm around my shoulders.
"...fine" I said in a whisper because class was just about to start.
